The chances of Benavidez boiling down to 168 again are about the same as Chile winning the next World Cup. Only someone with mental illness would believe Benavidez fights at 168 ever again.

He's not as skillful as Morrell.

Benavidez, not sure he'd bother fighting at super middle again except for Canelo.

If to face someone else, then for that Saudi money yes, if Turki comes up with an attractive offer.

It's pretty rare for fighters to be able to move up to a higher weight class and come down again. I'm quite sure a guy as big as Benavidez has a tough time cutting to 168. Even if he could do it again, often they feel better fighting at the higher weight class. And it's not like he's getting any opportunities at 168 because Canelo is being a duck.

Also WBC rules 3.14a stipulate that a wbc champion who wins a title in another division must decide which belt they're keeping within 15 days and vacate the other. 3.15 does permit a multiple division champion, but that requires specific permission from WBC, and requires extra sanctioning fees to be paid for every fight.

So it's pretty unlikely for him to go back down, especially since if he does win he's likely got a date with the soon-to-be crowned 175 undisputed champion, and Canelo seems likely to continue ducking. The Saudis also seem to prefer to pay for Canelo v Crawford so Benavidez is pretty unlikely to get a Canelo fight and this unlikely to go back to the division that doesn't give him any opportunities.

Ok... Mbilli, or his promoter/team has turned down Morrell fights on multiple occasions. I know how the fight game works. I've laced up before myself, and have worked as a consultant for fighters in multiple combat sports. With all due respect, go pound sand. I'm not responding further to a guy who's apparently invested in being a douche over a simple comment that's completely factually based.

Thank you for a solid sober analysis without extraneous name calling

I could be wrong, but I think there was an article on here with him saying he’d only go back to 168 for Canelo at this point

No, it is the promoter who makes the decision on the opponent so stop spinning it. Obviously you let your fangirl childish emotions take over with saying "I see Mbilli still wants nothing to do with Morrell" which is not a fact, just childish crap; there is nothing factual about what you said. So go pound sand, fangirl.

Why you getting all butthurt about it? Point is that Mbilli/Mbilli's team have turned down the fight with the champion he's ranked highest for on multiple occasions. Regardless of your misguided need to try to feel superior to some other poster on the Internet, that fight still isn't being made, and that's down to Mbilli's side.
Remember that Arum has $$$ enough to arrange whatever he wants, the way he wants and with the results he wants. Boxing is not longer a sport people can see real good fights among the best ones. Nowadays "Professional" Boxing is a mediatic entertainment managed by a bunch of gangsters with money...

He might not be afraid, they did turned down though.
