I have to agree with most in this thread inside the top 2, either way you can not really go wrong.

Being from Detroit though I have to go with The Brown Bomber as number 1.

I am not going to argue with you. If you have Louis at #1. You can't go wrong with either one. I would not even argue if somebody had Jack Johnson ahead of Ali. However, the reason why I say Ali is #1? The resume. Compare resume's. Ali fought in the toughest HW era ever. And, he fought everybody that posed a threat in that era. Louis had a lot of that bum of the month type of fights. And, I am not trying to knock him cuz he was great. But, IMO Ali fought the better and won.

I think some question his opponents but I have him in a tie with Ali

Hey you might be right. I think the Tyson of 86-89 could hang with the best of him. He had power, quickiness, and aglity. He threw combo's he went to the body beautifully. That Tyson would of gave everybody hell. However, the reason he is out of my list is that is only a 3yr span of greatness. He didn't have the longevity of making my list. But, I agree he might be a top 10. The Tyson of the 90's was a shell of the baddest man of the late 80's.
