What????? When did Benavidez face 4 champs?? Do you mean ex world champs???? The only champ he fought was dirrell. Plus Andrade and lemuix were champs at 160, not 168. He’s beaten up on smaller fighters. Again, him and Munguia have similar resume.

He's faced four fighters who have been world champs. Plant, Dirrell, Andrade and Lemieux. You want to talk about fighting smaller guys, again go look at Munguia's resume. If you want to say Munguia has earned this fight, you're wrong.

At this point in canelos career its about the biggest fights. Mungia on cinco de mayo is an absolutely huge fight.
Nobody asked for this fight. Don't pretend that Canelo/Benavidez on Cinco De Mayo isn't a bigger fight.

There's all these people who like to spout crap about how fighters are x height so it's fine for them to fight, as if there are height classes, not weight classes. Like the notion that Canelo and Bud are the same size, so they should fight, and the three weight divisions separating them aren't a thing. Well, Fundora is the same size as Anthony Joshua, so maybe they should fight. Same logic to that argument. Buge looked to me to be making fun of the notion that height is relevant to deciding matchups, rather than weight. Sure, let's bust out the measuring tape instead of the scale for future fights.
I don't put it past anyone being ****** enough to make the statement he did. Most people use an emoji if they are joking so I take someone literal unless they add some sort of light-hearted symbol. Remember, this is a site that people say things that are jaw-dropping. The tangent was someone who complained that Benavidez was too big for Canelo which has been shot down by facts.

Canelo doesn't need all those belts to command the purses he does. Let that division open up like 140 did and like 147 should. These guys are not fighting the mandos unless it is a no hoper. How long David has been at the #1 position and now has beaten to top contenders is the shot going to be denied?

I have a foot out of the Canelo bandwagon and will see what happens in his next fight and how it goes for him. If he wins and fights Berlanga next I am off.

Wasn't that someone Canelo? Which is funny because they can both make 168... Disappointing, because I was one of the ones who thought he'd have a good shot of winning, but I guess he'd rather fight anyone but guys in his division.

I didn’t give Beterbiev any credit for destroying Callum “little heart” Smith. Smith always a highly domestic fighter. Best wins are an older faded George Groves and squeaking out a win against John Ryder in which many said he lost. Callum Smith never special and the goal post was as big as the ocean if you were a world class fighter you can beat Smith with ease.

Can’t wait till you Canelo fanboys are gone, talk about hyping up a resume that consist of old faded smaller fighters and when you stepped up in competition you needed the judges and sanctioning bodies to save your ass from losing. Oh but but but he went up to 168 and unify…. All against weak champions with no power and guys like Callum smith who were willing to give up their titles for a paycheck haha. Come on man

The huge difference is Benavidez is not a soft fighter who wilts under pressure like Callum “little heart” Smith. Benavidez punch output, pressure, stamina and they way he uses his height are leagues above Callum Smith.

You're missing the point. Canelo has fought lightheavyweights and Benavidez has fought 168 pounders and even when he moves up to 175, Canelo has already fought lightheavyweights so any excuse about size is downright ******. This is not just about smith or did you miss the fact that Canelo has fought lightheavyweights?????

He is fighting top 5 guy in his division. It is not a bad fight. people complain because it is not Benavidez.

I wish people had the same expectations for other champions.
