Big difference is that Boots is trying to use Bud's name for clout but has avoided that fight several times. If he actually wants the fight, he can prove it by moving up to stay in the same division with the guy he claims he wants to fight. Otherwise he needs to keep Crawford's name out of his mouth. If he wants that fight, which Ennis has already proven he doesn't, he knows where to find him. Otherwise he should be calling out Stanionis, Barrios, Thurman, Ugas, Benn, Giyasov, Rocha, Avanesyan, Kaviaulskus, etc.Originally posted by Oregonian View Post

We don't KNOW if Boots is better than those guys because he hasn't stepped up and has no fights at that level. And that's largely because his dad has turned down several big fight offers for him for a variety of reasons. All we have is eye test, and there's at minimum hundreds of guys who look like world beaters against limited opposition only to look like bums when they step up. I think Boots is the real deal, but that's just my opinion until he actually steps up.
And the fact is that Bud's future fights all appear to be at 154. If he actually wants the Bud fight, which I highly doubt, he should be pursuing that 154 IBF fight. Otherwise, he needs to fight those top contenders in his own division.Comment
