How bout chase a first div. 154 world title that he actually fights for just like that (2nd is a stretch since he didn't fight anyone for his first title). That way NO ONE is undis*****g anything without Boots. Dangerous as fck, hell yeah and a ton more dangerous than 147. No names Fundora, Tszyu, Charlo, Ortiz, and more is shark swimming and not to be found anywhere on Boots resume. Boots is pond fishing and a smart m'er f'er then to keep his ass at 147 and chase no names there since you think the best fighters at 154 are no names or receive gifted belts and to this point fail to actually "WIN" a world title. The discussion about Crawford should stop.
Once again, Boots is fighting at 147. He can clean that division JUST like how Bud cleaned the 140 division fighting guys like Indongo. How is it no one is criticizing Bud for unifying 140 instead of jumping to straight to 147? It’s the path most boxers follow.
Belts will give Boots leverage just like they gave Bud leverage.
Bud is the man in history to unify three weight classes. It’s mentioned all the time so why would Boots skip 147 when he can do he same thing Bud did AND then move to 154?
Where exactly was Bud’s career when he was 26 years old? He was just as unknown as any other prospect.
This is precisely the problem with casual fans. Boots is being heralded as the next Floyd and they act like they know better.

Big difference is that Boots is trying to use Bud's name for clout but has avoided that fight several times. If he actually wants the fight, he can prove it by moving up to stay in the same division with the guy he claims he wants to fight. Otherwise he needs to keep Crawford's name out of his mouth. If he wants that fight, which Ennis has already proven he doesn't, he knows where to find him. Otherwise he should be calling out Stanionis, Barrios, Thurman, Ugas, Benn, Giyasov, Rocha, Avanesyan, Kaviaulskus, etc.
It took 5 years for Bud and Spence to fight. Five years. Excuse after excuse but the fight eventually happened and the better man won. Bud didn’t move to 154, he stayed in the same division until he got the fight made. In the meantime, for those 5 years, Bud fought Khan, Brook, Avanesyan and Kavaliauskas.
Even if I was to agree with your sentiments, can you say those 4 cornholios are better than Boots?

We don't KNOW if Boots is better than those guys because he hasn't stepped up and has no fights at that level. And that's largely because his dad has turned down several big fight offers for him for a variety of reasons. All we have is eye test, and there's at minimum hundreds of guys who look like world beaters against limited opposition only to look like bums when they step up. I think Boots is the real deal, but that's just my opinion until he actually steps up.
And the fact is that Bud's future fights all appear to be at 154. If he actually wants the Bud fight, which I highly doubt, he should be pursuing that 154 IBF fight. Otherwise, he needs to fight those top contenders in his own division.
