Honestly who didn't see that coming? Not sure where the talk about this being some kind of major upset when we all knew that Haney had some issues. All of those issues got exploited.

Yes I was. I thought Haney would be able to outbox him. That first left hook changed the whole fight.

Like Tyson said- everyone has a plan until they get hit.

Not at all, I bet on Ryan by KO and was sick to my stomach lol. Ryan had all the physical advantages in terms of speed and power and Haney just just have the fire power..

When you have a fighter as physically gifted as Ryan it's going to need a fighter with special qualities to deal with that. Haney doesn't have any special qualities

And yeah sure Haney beat him 3 times in the Ammy but pro is very different.

You can hate on Ryan all you want but very few boxers are blessed with his power and speed.

I thought the same but Devin seemed to delude himself into thinking he is a big puncher and went right after Ryan at the opening bell, even in the rds Devin won which were the one's he didn't get dropped he was stalking Ryan on the move just waiting to set him up.

He should have been his usual pitty pat jab, run, grab self.

They were 3-3 in the amateurs and there wasn't a lot to seperate them in their pro careers however Garcia seemed to have gone a bit mental and did have a bad loss to tank.

Haney was the favourite rightfully but Garcia winning shouldn't have been a "shock" to anyone as it was hardly Tyson vs Douglas

Partly. Ryan had to fight a smart fight and he did. Haney is going to have to get someone real to teach him how to tighten up those fundamentals. He's never gonna have a great time dealing with speed either.

I wasn't surprised Garcia won, I was more surprised at how ill prepared Haney was at nullifying the left hook.

I think he didn't understand how much faster and quicker Ryan was than him in addition to the flaws he already had.

My theory is that they didn't believe Ryan couldn't fight on the back foot and wanted to push him back. While it is true to a degree, they didn't control the lead hand while attempting to push him back.
