It always depends. Devin Haney and Tank Davis had spats with each other on social media ten times as much dating back years, not to mention face to face, yet their fight never materialized, and most people think it will never happen anytime in the future, especially now that the weight difference is becoming wider and wider. Should have happened years ago.

I wonder how much he gets paid for that.
Yea lol. No clue how much he gets paid. He does short interviews on ppv.com's YT channel too which are usually good.

I don't really understand his point. Why wouldn't it happen without social media? Is he suggesting Ryan wouldnt be ranked by the WBC without his social media popularity?

And who gives a fook is my counterpoint to Lampley's point even if hes right. Social media DOES exist. And if Mike Tyson's team wasn't able to send videotapes of his KOs to media in the mid 80s he'd probably not have gotten a belt fight vs Berbick in year 2 of his boxing career without videotapes. Technology exists & whats wrong with boxers exploiting that technology to the benefit of ones career.

Sh^t without TV Lampley wouldn't have been making millions of dollars over his career if we just dogging technology's part in peoples success.

No people think Ryan can’t fight cause he’s a clown and has never won a belt in any division and QUIT in his only big fight. This fight will be decent but it’s cause haneky is overated not cause rygar is some elite talent cause he is not

I don't understand your point. So we should just embrace all "technology" (if social media even falls into that category) uncritically?

Mr. Lampley has forgotten more of boxing history than you or I will know in our entire lifetimes. He also isn’t wrong in what he says. Social Media, while good, has allowed anonymous nobodies a platform to mindlessly spout off s h I t. It’s literally a brain wasteland.

I'm not saying anyone should embrace anything. I'm saying others will & everyone has to some degree so idu wtf Lampley's point is here except being a grumpy old man who hates change.

If Lampley was like he is today back in the day he'd be dogging that fancy new fad television.

                    I think there's a categorical difference personally.

So was television, the internet, etc and so on. I'm sure there were mfers waaaaaaay back in history born into & living in the age of telling stories verbally who saw writing the stories down as some inferior method.

Nothing ever changes with mfers weird about change
