Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Is a Heavyweight Great When Focused - But Will He Be Against Oleksandr Usyk?

All-time great fighters, have a ability to win their biggest fights 'First time of asking'. Fury to his credit, whatever big fights he has been involved in 'He has nearly won them all'.
I call this 'Clutch game'. When this 4th quater comes, what fighters turn up 'And which fighters disappear?'.
People must understand the category of fights in boxing 'Definitive fights, are challenges fighters must overcome on that night. Not in the rematch, or a few years after first encountering the challenge'.
Chris Eubank Senior, had to beat Nigel Benn 'When they first met, if? Eubank Senior would of beaten Nigel Benn at any other time, the trajectory of his career would of been altered dramatically'.
Muhammad Ali had to beat Sonny Liston in their first fight, and the rematch 'Those fights were the moment when Muhammad Ali appeared, at the top of the Mountain amongst the greats. Muhammad Ali after this point both inside and outside of the ring, was continually encountering defining challenges and moments which he had to overcome'.
Mike Tyson had to beat Trevor Berbick on November 22nd 1986, in that moment he had to win the fight 'Not only did Mike Tyson win the fight, he won in spectator fashion. Then he went to become the Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion, and along the way winning two more defining fights vs Larry Holmes and Michael Spink's.
Mike Tyson's first Heavyweight title reign, was his defining moment 'There has been no Heavyweight reign since, which has had such a impact. And there have been very few Championship reigns in all boxing division's, that compare in terms of the cultural impact his performances and fights had upon a time'.
Even in terms of Mike Tyson's actual performances, the violence, brutality and level of skill 'The only Championship reign or run of fights which is comparable in some ways was Manny Pacquiao's run of fights from Oscar De La Hoya to Shane Mosely'.
The reason why I say, has nearly won all of his biggest fights ? Is because for sure 'Tyson Fury did not win the first Deontay Wilder fight. You don't win World title fights by being backed up all night, and decked twice once badly. Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder I, was correctly scored as draw'.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Uysk once again, is another one of those defining fights 'Moments in both of these fighters careers'.
Note: Tyson Fury's resume is not objectively great as Anthony Joshua's in terms overall level of competition back to back. But we have never seen Tyson Fury, in the clutch 'Disappear'.
Wladimir Kiltschko vs Anthony Joshua 'April 29th, 2017. Joshua in his 19th professional fight, had to win this fight. Anthony Joshua had to step up and fight the version of Wladimir Kiltschko who Tyson Fury should of fought in their scheduled rematch, but did not unfortunately due to his then circumstance'.
Wladimir Kiltschko vs Anthony Joshua 'Is the greatest Heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years. That was the night the Heavyweight Division, was conclusively taken into a completely new dynasty. If Joshua did not win that fight, on that night? His career trajectory would of been altered dramatically'.
Francis Ngannou vs Anthony Joshua 'Was actually a defining moment and fight for Joshua. A defining fight and moment can be detected, in the aftermath of the performance. If the win and performances alters the trajectory of a fighters career? Then that is a defining challenge, moment and fight'.
Anthony Joshua has won in those defining moments before many times, but we have also seen him lose 'Joshua vs Ruiz Junor II, and Joshua vs Uysk II were both defining fights for Joshua. Joshua beat Ruiz Junior II, but lost to Uysk II'.
The first fights with both Ruiz Junior I, and Uysk I 'Were not really defining fights. The perception of those fights, before they happened? Was that Anthony Joshua should of beaten both of those fighters, especially Ruiz Junior I'.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Uysk 'It is a defining fight, for Tyson Fury. So I expect Fury to turn up, and I have stated before? If Fury loses this fight, it will not be due to lack of effort in preparation'.
Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, and Oleksandr Uysk 'They have all won their biggest fights, at certain points in their careers. They have all been in a defining moment, were they had to win'.
And this is one of the factors which sets them apart from the other fighters in the Heavyweight Division, and their era. And it is why Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Uysk are all in their own separate competition, to see who will be the last man standing from this era' etc.

Part of being heavyweight great is also being focused every time not only from time to time.
Fury has failed that test badly, not only once.
He is just a boxer with two big moments in his career, beating Klitschko 9 years ago and knocking out Wilder in their second meet.
His resume sucks and his next fight is Usyk whose hw resume is also not deep.

"All Time Great " sure does get tossed around easily these days , as does "Hero" , and "Great". I fail to see what Tyson Fury has done to warrant being called an " All Time Great". Ali, Holmes,Louis, even Holyfield ,I can understand, but Fury ? GTFOH. The trilogy with Wilder was good, the first and third fights were awesome, but what else has he done ? Clowned around and "beat" an old Klitscho ? Beat up his pal Chisora a few times ? What's he done that's so great ?MulaKO likes this.
