What performance would put him higher than 35 P4P? Judah?

He looked awful against Clottey and would have prob been a draw if it was in a neutral place. He quit against Margarito. Jennings and Gomez were laughable wins. Judah was Cotto's last good fight.

What about wins against too-slow Baldomir, over-the-hill ODLH, puny-over-rated Hatton and outweighted JMM??? Cotto beated SSM, none else in WW Divison can claim that win.

Fair enough. But you can't blame the top fighters for Floyd not wanting to fight them, therefore not allowing them a chance at that designation. It would be different if we were talking one of the top welters, but Floyd doesn't want any of them. At some point you have to start ranking around that ridiculousness and judge the fighters by who they are fighting now, not who they beat 3 years ago.

Floyd retired for health reasons for the good of the sport so he could come back fresher, stronger, better for crying out loud. Cotto has never won a title that wasnt vacated, speaks volumes.

You're twisting the topic my friend. Health reasons or not, he wasn't fighting the best welters back then, and he is already saying he won't fight the best welter right now. How does that make him number one?

As far as Cotto goes.......I don't put much stock in any of the titles today. They're all watered down and make crazy things up just to collect more sanctioning fee's.

What I do put stock into is a fighter willing to fight the best fighters in his weight class. Say what you will of Cotto's titles, but he's consistently fighting the best fighters in his division and not crying which one will bring him the most money.
