Floyd vs canelo was slick and quick vs heavy legs and flat footed. Bud vs Boots would be slick and quick vs. Slick and quick. Both explosive, both move and think fast. Both switch stances. Both have high boxing IQ. Both have defense, reflexes, and timing. Both are very dedicated, disciplined, live in the gym, and stay in tremendous shape. I'm having trrouble finding a historical parallel, mainly because who else checked all these boxes, AND switched stances like these two can? Crawfords career has been mismanaged from day one , the guy should be a huge star. His daughter got more pop out of losing a shoe and winning a race than he did for smoking Spence. Nine months later and no fight even on the horizon is a waste of beating Spence like he did. Crawford should be a mainstream celebrity, instead, he's barely a celebrity in the sport where he's arguably the best. Who manages him or advises him ?

I don't know if I agree with this take. Crawford was on hold because Spence had a rematch clause that he had to honor. Spence didn't back out of the fight until he announced he had eye surgery around the beginning of the year. Bud couldn't make any moves until then. Once it was clear the Spence fight was off, he put his hat in the ring to fight the WBO champ for 154.

I would love for Bud to align with PBC to make these fights easier, but it feels like he holds a grudge for being frozen out at 147 for so long.

There'll be more of these articles coming as long as these two continue to have no fight scheduled. They've been waiting around for far too long now. But these articles are useless unless they're ****ed up with how the fight can be made. Which platform or promoter is going to take interest in staging the fight? Is PBC interested? If there are no offers made for Crawford to counter, then what's the point?

And you have got to be joking me with your UFC crap. Rankings are irrelevant in the UFC. You get a title shot in the UFC if Dana White wants you to.

How many people has Makhachev defended against who were actually from his own division?

How about Alex Pereira. How did he earn any of his title shots? How many wrestlers has he fought?

Who did Jon Jones beat to get his title? Oh yeah, the guy who already got crushed by Ngannou with one leg and his worst skill (which is Jones' best). Who is he fighting next? The guy that Ngannou knocked out 4 years ago, who hasn't had a fight in 3 years, let alone a win. Is he defending against the interim champion?

That's literally just off the top of my head from recent history. There's more examples of UFC champions NOT fighting top opponents than there are people who did. And all the guys who did, have been knocked out recently.

Boots has not received an opportunity from any top 4 fighter at 147 or 154. That is not his fault. My point is the UFC does a better job matchmaking and is more likely yo give the fans what they want much faster than boxing. I have noticed in this boxing community that you guys are not fans of boxing but "boxers"

Context matters. 2013 Canelo and 2024 Ennis are not equal.

Boots has absolutely received opportunities, and turned them down. His dad turned down Crawford twice now, and he deliberately avoided the WBO route and went IBF rather than fight Bud. Then didn't request to enforce his mandatory shot vs Spence until Spence was already contracted to fight Bud. Didn't call out Bud until Spence activated the rematch clause. And now that Bud is free to fight, he's not calling him out again.

The UFC absolutely doesn't do a better job with matchmaking. People get title shots for no reason whatsoever and the UFC rankings are a joke. Your "point" ignores all the FACTS I pointed out. Most of their champions aren't defending against top fighters in their own division. UFC is more ****** mismatches like Canelo v Munguía or Yildirim than it is ACTUAL good fights, and that's with a way smaller pool of fighters. If you think that's good matchmaking, I repeat, you need to get off the Internet and go back to school. Respond to the questions I raised in the previous post. The intellectual dishonesty here is textbook. Evasion, gaslighting, moving goalposts, repeating false premises that have already been disproven. Come on now.

He's moved up to 154 now and wants big fights / big money. Boots offers neither.
He should be dropping the belts though.
