I've just had a look at those undercards to refresh the memory. And yeah, you're not wrong. The worst one has to be going through that awful undercard only to get De La Hoya vs Hopkins as the main event. That was a painful snooze fest. They just looked at each other mostly bouncing up and and down on their toes playing a cat and mouse game.

“I swerved Adrien Broner’s defeat of Paulie Malignaggi in 2013 because the build-up was so repugnantly misogynistic.“
Oh geez, stopped reading right there. This makes me nostalgic for Hand Themistode articles.Comment

Klitchcko vs fury was appalling……my brother in law went to Germany to watch it and he and many others left before the 9th round…..probably the worst heavyweight title fight I’ve ever seenComment

This "writer" stinks. They just had to turn it into a toxic masculinity thing right off the bat to virtue signal? This is supposed to be about boxing, not crybaby's feelings.
They get paid to give each other brain damage and possibly even kill somebody, I don't expect them to have great morals or be role models.Last edited by chicken-; 04-07-2024, 11:11 PM.Comment

It was a hard read. I cringed when I read his complaint of “misogyny.” I’d like to imagine that he wrote this article while sipping on his soy latte. This "writer" stinks. See I'm a self-confessed weirdo when it comes to Wlad–Ibragimov. I find that fight fascinating but not all that unpleasant to watch, because it's so hilarious the way they kept swatting their jabs and staring at each other the whole time. It's like a big KO was fixin' to happen but never did. Plus I always liked the late-2000s MSG atmosphere on HBO, with the crowd all brightly lit.
Wlad–Povetkin... yea, at championship level that was one of the worst of all time. Not even Fury–Wlad was that bad, since retroactively it at least has historical significance to it, and Fury's feinting was kinda funny as a novelty (not anymore; he just looks like a clown now). Also Wlad–Haye I will never bash, because at the time it was exciting as hell waiting for a KO, so I'm still able to re-watch it in that way.Comment
