I agree ref promoter judges all of them were involved in the fix.

Boxing is avoiding punches with actual skill ie upper body movement head movement ala canelo, Toney etc

This hold hold hold n jab shyt is not boxing so that BS narrative has to stop.
      I agree

        Gifts are a rarity.
Until boxing becomes a sport (with a definitive way of scoring fights), we can expect more questionable outcomes.

Excessive clinching/holding is supposed to get checked by the ref by taking points.

In football when you hold the ref throws the flag and the infraction is penalized immediately.

The ref is monitoring two guys only I find it hard to believe he can't see a guy excessively holding.
Guys, this has been happening forever lol. Everyone is trying to make it like it's some new epidemic that plagues the sport. I promise you that boxing has much more pressing issues than a few fighters that can't fight on the inside or hold excessively.

Also, like most things in boxing, the rules are subjective so what one may deem excessive, another may find reasonable. How do you regulate it? Have the ref keep count of holds per round?

People are just being selectively outraged to pile on certain fighters who style they don't like. If that's the case, just don't watch that fighter and support the ones that fight in the style you enjoy.

Thank you! The entire sport is determined by subjectivity which makes it unlike any other sport. Literally even referee operates with a great deal of discretion that leads to questionable calls. The rules need to become more rigidly defined and enforced as well as scoring criteria.

And your wrong because when the other fighter tries to push or work out a clinch they end up getting warned by the corrupt ref instead of the hugger...so you should stfu and get out of here with that clinch loving BS.

See those types of fighter are being babied right now for several reasons that go beyond boxng.
First you spelled it wrong but that's to be expected. I'll ignore the name-calling because it's a sign of personal shortcomings on your end.

Now, there are ways to deny a clinch where said fighter doesn't need to fight out in the first place. Most fighters these days can't fight inside so when they come up against an inside fighter and they are unable to maintain their preferred distance, they hold as a form of control, the ref likely breaks and they get to reset at their preferred range.

It is all part of the sport and has been for decades. Fighters should study and practice on denying clinches and how to work inside and there would be balance. Study Roberto Duran or even Michael Nunn and see how to implement it.

So this the official excuse. It was an issue then and even bigger issue now.

If that's true, then where on your scale is the fighter who barely gets hit and yet gets the KO? Or the one who endures a beating and pulls out the W?

Agility, evasiveness and cleverness are all part of fighting. But fighting without toughness isn't fighting.
