    Honestly, you are right.

Does it matter? How do you imply the ranking system to work? It's structured like that for a reason.

Benavidez climbed up through the ranks and is interim with the WBC, not Ranked #1 anymore for a title shot, but "interim" - if you know what it means.

How else are fighters supposed to get a title shot? Should we just say **** the rank system and fight a bunch of nobodies with any names?

You don't know how to read, do you? It's not about benavidez, it's about canelo avoiding him. He's scared.

The guy who has been mandatory for 3 years is Morrell, not Benavidez. Morrell became mandatory January 2021. Benavidez not until May 2022. It's not even been 2 years for Benavidez yet, and unlike the WBA and IBF, Canelo DID fight his WBC mandatory already, even if we should all have questions about how Yildirim became WBC mandatory.

The rankings at 168 are meaningless because Canelo and the alphabet organizations have made them that way. If they give the undeserving guys random shots and don't order the ones who have been waiting for years, they're totally absent of meaning.

No, he won his interim WBC May 21, 2022 v David Lemieux.

Morrell became WBA (regular) January 2021, nearly a year and a half before Benavidez. The only time the WBA has been defended in the last 4 years was Smith defending against Canelo. Canelo won the vacant WBC then too, and then defended that belt vs WBC mandatory Avni Yildirim on Feb 27, 2021. After that, he beat Saunders for the WBO in May 2021, then Plant in November 2021. Unless that counted as a mandatory defense for Plant, or the Golovkin fight counted as a mandatory for the IBF, the IBF belt was last defended by Plant against mandatory Caleb Truax Jan 30, 2021. Then Canelo defended v WBO mandatory Ryder in May 2023. I don't see how Charlo could have satisfied any mandatory either. So that's the full mandatory history of 168.

Meaning Morrell has the longest claim, as of the beginning of 2021, followed by the IBF. Both have not been defended against a mandatory in 3 years, and even if you count Plant v Canelo, it's still been longer for both than Benavidez' claim that doesn't start until May 2022.

NO, he's not right. The ginger before moving to 168 declared he wouldn't fight any more Mexicans, the reason been that benavidez happened to hold the WBA belt, after the "Mexican" lost his belt he decided to go after the whole division, consist of second tiers Britain and a decent plant, he never wanted to face benavidez nor Morell jr and that is the truth. For three years he's been ducking those two guys.

so what does all of this mean?

is canelo holding up the entire division? should he just be stripped of all belts and told to sling his hook?

Now his next fight is on someone else’s undercard while he’s begging for that Canelo payday. Sad ****.
He's not begging for the pay day, he's demanding his right as #1 mandatory for canelo, what's sad is seeing canelo cowardly avoiding two guys at the weight where he proclaims he is the "king"

The only respect Alvarez needs to show Benavidez, is if they ever fight 'And that is to prepare optimally, and not cheat'.

Note: Benavidez believes he is a more important and bigger fighter than he actually is in terms of 'Historical significance'. Alvarez has fought many fighters who were greater than Benavidez both in terms of skill for skill ability and achievement.

Benavidez is a solid fighter, but in reality? He is not on the level of Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto in terms of ability or career achievements.

It just seems very straight forward to me, if Benavidez really wants this fight 'Then the stage is set'. Canelo Alvarez is not going to be difficult to find during the fight week of Munguia vs Alvarez.

This would be a great opportunity for Benavidez to confront Alvarez, within physical reality 'And challenge him like a contender' etc.

You guys really don't have any shame. Are you comparing mosley&Cotto then to benavidez now? Are you out of your mind or you really that kind of fanboy?
