Cotto's resume at 140 is very comparable to Mosley's at 135. Just cause Mosley ruled the division doesn't mean his opposition was good.

Note: I really am not trying to hate on Shane's resume. Just proving a point that Cotto deserves zero criticism on his opposition coming up. If you held Mosley to the standards you hold Cotto to, than the first fighter Mosley faced that was above a B level fighter was Oscar....
The problem with Cotto is he won't get the credit that Mosley did by historians because all the guys Mosley beat were actual linear title defenses. I think some of the opponents that Arum threw Cotto in with were decent, but they deserve zero criticism? That's bull**** that only Cotto stans believe.

Haha, so the fact that they were lineal title defenses means the opposition was better?

Gary Lockett was a lineal title defense for Pavlik....does that make Gary Lockett a great opponent?

What your saying makes no sense. I agree that historically it won't be looked at as great, but that doesn't make it right.

And you basically addressed nothing I wrote.

I agree that Oscar was the first great fighter that Shane fought. But I could see a prime John Molina and prime Jesse James Leija giving Cotto trouble and possibly beating him.

Those are solid names on Mosley's resume no doubt. I don't see how they are soooo much better than the names on Cotto's resume at 140.

Okay, Mosley and Cotto were both protected during the early portion of their careers. Are you happy now?

See I think of it as they were both gradually brought along...not protected. Mosley was stuck in a ****ty division and Cotto fought a solid list of ppl at 140 while he was coming up before he was ready to step up into the elite.

              Think positively man haha.

How is Diaz my boy? I never said I was in love with the dude. And I don't think that fighting a tooth and nail battle with him like Paulie did (even though I thought he got ripped off by the judges) is a great accomplishment either. So I guess that one win on JMM's resume is why he's in the HOF.
