He just won back to back tough matchups where he was the underdog in both. Dillian Whyte as his “soft touch” is quite the soft touch. He’s not the worst fighter he could fight.
In addition, Parker isn’t even a champion. So it’s not like he’s hogging a title by wanting this revenge fight.
You can't "avenge" a loss 6 years after the fact against a guy who has been on the slide for the past 3-4 years, it's pointless at this stage.
JP is a top 3 heavyweight, maybe top 2.
Where does Whyte rank?
Not in the top 20
Everyone KNOWS Parker will win easily which is why it's pointless, who wants to see a fight where the result is 99% certain going into it.
Parker by uppercut KO, there you go.
Parker doesn't knockout anyone of any note. Never has. He's an excellent fighter but let's not pretend he's something he very clearly isn't.
I'm any case, he's taken chances and fought himself into a position where he doesn't need to chase tough non-title fights to prove himself. And he's probably not getting a title fight in the immediate future given the mini pile up between Usyk/Fury, Turkiye's Joshua promise and the IBF's Hrgovic mandatory.
Whyte v Parker will do tickets and views (therefore good money). Dillian is a decent name and there's a narrative to sell given the past defeat. It makes perfect sense to me and it keeps Parker active.
And of course he's not top 2. Nor top 3. But that barely seems worth discussing.

Usyk is the number 1 heavyweight.
Who's number 2? AJ or Parker
It's definatley not Fury he just lost to a novice MMA fighter and his last win was Chisora in 2022.
Parker has like 5 wins since 2022 and his last two were both top 10s.
Ok let's say because fury has a belt he's obligitary top 3,so you have Usyk, AJ and Fury
Parker is top 4 at WORST, oh yes he is, who is above him?
