Why wouldn't he face Kelly if a belt is on the line? Obviously he would prefer the biggest fights but if the plan is to fight Canelo moving through the weights then there is less need to fight Spence or the Charlos. If those fights come then great but if not he'll be testing himself against bigger guys on route anyway.

I think Kelly has looked decent at 154, but it's TC's purse demands that I'm most concerned about. If TC is looking for high 7 figures/low 8 figures, can Wasserman even afford him? Josh isn't necessarily a proven commodity in the UK, and TC doesn't have promotional backing. This isn't unique to Kelly. If Kelly passes on the fight, then I think Lubin will face a similar issue. If TC will only get in the ring for mega $$$, then he might as well retire. I love watching him fight, but he may not be worth the investment for a lot of promoters.

Hadn't Crawford effectively accepted the split already by enforcing the mandatory route? Isn't it really that Fundora can earn more fighting Spence in a voluntary for the WBC where there is more scope for negotiation?

There's a pre-determined 80-20 split if it goes to purse bid, which Crawford likely won't accept, but the split can be whatever the two sides agree to if they get a deal done before.

Essentially Fundora likely has a get-out-of-jail-free card: if they don't like what the deal is for Crawford, they can let it go to purse bid and get 80%. If Crawford somehow agrees to fight for only 20% after purse bid, they have the option to drop the WBO belt and still be the WBC champion if they wanna fight Tszyu or Spence instead.

Another wrinkle here is that it's believed Amazon isn't bankrolling a significant budget to PBC, so that fight going to purse bid could (and in my opinion would) lead to DAZN bidding for and getting that fight... which makes a purse bid/80-20 situation even less likely to happen.

Fundora is NOT one of these big money fights Crawford has been talking about when he brushes off the Jaron Ennis match talks.

So, when you add all these things up.... can Crawford fight Fundora? Sure.

Will he? By all signs of the man's actions.... No. Resoundingly.

No, it's because Crawford refuses to take anything less than 50% in a fight AND since he holds three of the 147 titles, likely much higher, whereas Spence really has no choice but to accept lower pay given his position. He even said so himself and his honesty has to be respecked.

However, what you just saw is Errol pulling "Big Fish" maneuvers by snatching a Fundora fight he probably doesn't even deserve. Why?

Because despite the win, Crawford "can't sell out a family reunion", has been just as inactive, ducked Boots Ennis and got stripped of one of the titles.

Top guys don't have that happen to them. Ask Devin Haney - a true top guy.

WBO grants him 75% automatically vs Fundora, that's what his manager said yesterday. He said the Crawford fight has to be negotiated outside the standard purse rules for the WBO because he refuses to accept less than 50%
