Comments Thread For: Carlos Adames Wants To Move Up To 168 To Face Edgar Berlanga In Puerto Rico

Carlos Adames (23-1) has been very vocal in his desire to move up to 168 pounds and face any of the top fighters in the division. He previously called out Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.

“In fact, I am willing to go fight him in Puerto Rico in his backyard in front of all of his countrymen”. Let’s be honest, Pr is probably more of a backyard to Adames than Berlanga since Adames grew up in the island right next door. Wouldn’t be shocked if Adames had more fans in PR than Berlanga since many Dominicans migrate to PR and Berlanga hasn’t really done much that would make PR fans want to support him.

Oh wow, this clown ran out of cash he wants to come back in the ring now. Nine months since his last fight and still no fight lined up.

Maybe he’s just a fighter who actually wants to fight, so he’s calling out someone who’s on his level to get in the ring with him. I know that’s a novel concept in boxing these days.

This guy needs to get the full WBC title and then look at unifying. He's not getting the Berlanga fight. Needs to call out Charlo, kick up a fuss with the WBC, something. He's a top fighter but isn't getting the chance to show it.

Janibek has been calling him out ever since I can remember.

Janibek Shreds Carlos Adames: "You Are Easy Work For Me!"
It doesn’t matter how much time has passed, Janibek Alimkhanuly seldom forgets anything. Carlos Adames didn’t have the sort of success at 154 pounds that many believed he would. When he was given a chance to fight for an interim world title in 2019, he was dropped and lost convincingly against Patrick Teixeira.

Janibek Alimkhanuly Calls Out Carlos Adames For Spring Showdown
The middleweight division doesn’t have the big names associated with it like it used to, something that annoys Janibek Alimkhanuly. Of course, we could take a trip down memory lane and discuss Hall of Fame greats such as Bernard Hopkins and Marvin Hagler, but their title reigns took place before Alimkhanuly even knew how to tie his shoes.

Then there was Eric Lubin who called him out after his win with Williams. I think Carlos is just okay with being able to buy fat shiny gold necklaces. He most likely got infected with this one fight a year virus which is widespread in the PBC island.

How about fighting Janibek so we can start to get some clarity at middleweight?

The WBC denied his request to face Jermall for the WBC title. Adames is literally in no man's land.
