They didn't want to give Bivol the chance at 168lbs so it was a take it or leave it situation and Bivol rightly asked for more money. Canelo fights Bivol thinking he would win but even if he loses, he keeps all his belts. Then when Bivol wins and wants a rematch at 168 he says no. He then goes to fight a guy 2 weight classes below him and picks a guy he knows he can beat because Mungia almost lost against Derevyanchenko. Let's not forget that after Bivol he fights an old GGG. Literally the guy is just cherry picking every single fight and it's because it does not matter who he fights, people will still pay. We already saw with the Bivol fight that size matters. Clenbuterol adds only so much. A man who is just flat-out bigger in every dimension has an advantage that is almost impossible to overcome. If I were Alvarez, I wouldn’t take Benavidez either… and I say this as a guy who would have banned Canelo for life over the clenbuterol affair.
