The only way Benavidez becomes a bigger name at 175 pound's, than he was at 168 pound's.
Is by defeating the winner of Bivol vs Beterbiev, and if then calls out Canelo again, for the umpteenth time!
Which would put an enormous, and unbearable pressure on Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, to face his daunting arch-rival, and primary nemesis!

But how long will it take? Haven't Bivol-Beterbiev got a rematch? And didn't Beterbiev just beat his WBC mandatory so won't that be last on the rotation?

Benevidez clearly needs to fight around the same time as Canelo but if he moves up in weight will he be able to get back down again? Looking at it if it is Munguia in May who else could he fight in September which will give him the payday he feels he warrants; not Morrell nor Charlo. Dunno about Crawford

Sure the problem the rest of 175 pounder are big already here is a sample Beterbiew was cruiser as amateur now 175 also Benavidez won't enjoy size advantage.

He only took the fight because he had to - he was the lineal 160lbs champion, he couldn't bypass the entire division considering GGG had 3 of the 4 belts. Also there was pressure on him from HBO to take the fight.

He only fought GGG 3 times because the first fight was controversial where most people fought he lost, best case scenario 5 rounds to 7. He then goes and cheats just to be able to hang with GGG in the rematch (again most think he lost the fight). He then waits 4 years to age GGG out again before making him debut at 168lbs at 41 years of age. Its pathetic stuff all around.

I like guys that fight for legacy disregarding their record
Lets be real then the only fighter of the last decade who pretty much was down to fight everybody was Lomachenko

The same thing did not happen actually. Mungia will be Canelo's NINTH fight at 168 without fighting the clear number 1 contender. He never ducked GGG that blatantly and for that long. You are still living in denial. The age gaps are also reversed now. Canelo is the older fighter. Canelo could probably confess he was ducking and you still would not believe it.

Well he did take a long time on fighting GGG, but he had to grow into MW that was what the wait was he wasn't ducking. these 168 175 guys are big boys. They never came from WW; I think if Canelo had of stayed at MW, he would have been a better fighter. I like the idea of Benavidez in the mix with Bivol and Betebiev that will be interesting what goes down there. But for sure, going to 175, he ain't going back down again.

Lomachenko is a good little fighter as long as he stayed in the lower weight divisions. All that dancin and the off set moves he did @ the lower weight divisions was second to none. Lomachenko was undeniably good and his fights were NON- controversial. When he moved up and got a lil bigger he didn't look the same. He looked tenative & sorta scared of Teofimo for at least 5 or 6 rounds til he warmed up, but he's just never been able to take his skill set with him. Now his fights are controversial.
