I think Charlo will never come back to 154. Crawford -Tszyu is the fight to make.

The other layer is the inactivity. Canelo is not only the cash-cow, but he's ACTIVE. Therefore, it behooves the sanctioning bodies to have him as champion because they make money every time he fights. We can complain about his choice of opponents, but what we can't say is that he's inactive for the hell of it.
Taking chances means taking fights fights that cause a fighter to develop his skills not enhance his record.... (challenges)
Sure not all fights are wars no body could handle that thru out, but aviodence is rewarded in boxing now not discouraged...........Comment

That would be the second card Thurman got bumped from in that case, he was supposed to fight Stanionis at the end of last year too.Comment

Said it when they announced the Jermell- Canelo fight, Jermell was cashing out. Both Charlo's are talented but both seem really ******, and both seem to have mental issues.
They are the types of fighters who seem to have grown up doing it and both had talent and so they used their talent to make money.....but neither guy seems to care much about legacy or the sport all that much. So from here on if either of them do fight again, I don't expect them to take any risks at all.
That is really part of the big issue with the sport now. Years ago guys got into the sport with dreams of being the best, glory, leave it all in the ring mentality.....which could lead to big paydays and being set for life. The sport got massively popular and even low tier guys started getting life changing paydays. In the last decade, as the previous generations of fighters are gone, the new generation is dealing with far less fans, the sport is not nearly what it once was popularity wise. The money isn't there like it used to be. And these guys that came up watching fighters make millions are not going to get that kind of money.
Sport is headed off a cliff the way it is going. It has to get back to where the belts mean something, less guys being "developed" over 20+ fights, guys who want to scrap and not just try to win on points.
Probably too late.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 03-02-2024, 01:39 PM.Comment

This is sad. Unfortunately, we boxing fans don’t know half the shit these fighters have to go through.
Obviously he is a broken fighter just like his older brother was for many months. I just hope he keeps it together and return to the ring as soon as possible.
I’ve never seen so many fighters have mental breakdowns as much as they have today. Which I believe is caused by the loss of brain tissue.
Mental illness in boxing is real.Comment
