Barboza is not the man, but he gets the chance to become the man. Of course he’s not going to make Garcia’s purse. Garcia’s a star and Barboza is unknown, but he gets a shot at a world title and the exposure of a high profile main event.That’s a very big deal. Apart from that, Barboza’s negotiated purse will undoubtedly be a career high pay day for him.

He’s in shape and training, with a chance to step in for a championship belt on the biggest stage. It would be dumb as hell for him not to take this opportunity.
