who has he beat??? he's a good fighter but not great!!! who's the best fighter that he beat on his resume? jacobs? lemieux? those fighters arent really nothing to brag about... he loss twice against canelo.. i am not trying to diss G but he's just not that great of a fighter. he was fighting B-C level fighters up until canelo.

Look, I'm not going to list his resume on here. You're free to look it up yourself. And that's your opinion of course. Your opinion of "B-C level" aside, Jacobs and Lemieux were both World Champions (Jacobs 2x) and they were both in their prime when GGG fought them. Jacobs also came into the ring at near 190 lbs in case you forgot and he still got dropped and beat. And seriously, basically no one thinks Canelo won the first fight vs GGG and many also believe GGG won the second fight as well. Canelo couldn't even hurt him or win convincingly in the third fight ( I personally thought he'd get beat up and knocked out)... Curious who exactly you wanted him to fight? Canelo ducked him until he got older. Cotto and Martinez wanted nothing to do with him, much like everyone else when GGG was in his prime. Who? He was supposed to fight Pirog which would've been a ****er but unfortunately Pirog got a career ending injury. Andre Ward??? Marvin Hagler stayed at middleweight his entire career and I've NEVER heard anyone talk about how he was a "coward" because he "ducked" bigger guys. Maybe the difference between how they're looked at has less to do with their ability and careers and a little more to do with what I've come to expect from boxing fans in general...

We all have our preferences, but I do strain to understand anyone who can't recognize and appreciate GGG's quality. GGG was THE most dominant middleweight of his era. There is no close second. He has a record 20 MW championship defenses, held the title for 8 years. He may not have many HOF names on his ledger, but he fought and KO'd one top ten contender after another. He faced and beat (mostly by KO) the best contenders in his division. Whether or not you want to acknowledge what actually transpired in the Canelo fights, most knowledgeable fans and pundits agree that GGG should have won the first fight clean (116-112) and earned no less than a draw in the second fight. This is against the guy who is still widely regarded as the best fighter of this era.

I do believe its important to acknowledge fair criticisms, so it has to be said that GGG did become so obsessed wth beating Canelo that he allowed himself to get strung along by Canelo during the final years of his career when he might have pursued other legacy fights. Could he have fought Lara in 2021-22? Sure, why not, but critics would have just said he beat an old JMW moving up. Nobody seriously thinks that Erislandy Lara, whose best MW win was Cornflake LaManna, was going to threaten any version of GGG anyway.

Could he have fought Jermall Charlo? Sure, but Charlo talks way more than he actually fights. He was suffering from years of depression and didn't really want the GGG fight until after GGG turned 40 and looked old in the Canelo trilogy fight. The bottom line for GGG is that the Canelo trilogy was both the biggest legacy fight for him and the biggest money fight (by a lot) that he could get so the other 2nd-tier contenders were not serious options.

With regard to the Deryvyanchenko fight, I do think he should have lost a close decision. I think that performance was attributable to a combination of age (37) and inactivity, but nobody has an easy night with Deryvyanchenko. Just ask 26-yr old Jaime Munguia.

Anyway, I doubt I've moved the needle for you at all. GGG's not on your favorite fighter list, and that's fine, but his greatness will certainly be acknowledged in the sport when he becomes a 1st ballot HOF entrant in four years. IMO, he's a Top 5 fighter of his generation who I regard as a match for any MW in the history of the sport.

Thank you for an educated post. Like you said, no one has an easy night again Derevyanchenko but Eddie Hearn did also state that GGG was sick going into that fight. GGG was also very sick vs Rosado as well but he simply has too much class to even mention it nevermind ***** and moan like other fighters like Wilder do.

First off it's "lost" not loss. And that's not a typo because you keep writing it, it's annoying. Second, it's not about "think how you want" or your sit on the couch opinion of who's "A-level" or "first string." Jacobs is a 2x World Champion and Lemieux was also a World Champion. Period, end of story. How you or I "feel" about them is irrelevant. As was previously stated, not gonna waste my time trying to sway your opinion (which is completely irrelevant anyway). I'm just stating facts. Oh and thanks for not answering my question regarding who you feel he should have fought. Curious if guys who feel like you do would feel different about him if he had a different skin tone or last name...

Ok you can't even speak or type simple English correctly but somehow you're still able to climb down from Mt. Enlightenment and piss on and judge World Champions. Does your 9-5 at the car wash pay well? Keep being ignorant. I know if you're a hoodrat you wear it like a badge of honor, but to everyone else, when you can't speak or spell correctly you just end up looking ignorant and uneducated. And sometimes the shoe fits...
