Well, they finally matched Berlanga up with an opponent that he could knock out. After the Nicholson fight, it took some trial and error to find the appropriate level of opponent who would serve up the KO victory for the "chosen one".

It's both impressive and sad that the bulk of Berlanga's career (and Munguia for that matter) has been to fight a certain level of fighter time and again to fatten up their undefeated records in hopes of the ultimate cash-out against Canelo.

If Canelo fights him before taking on either Benny or Morrell then it's the finest cherry to pick. Of course he would have an easier time against Berlanga. No disrespect to him, he's a decent fighter. But he's nowhere near either of the Davids.

It’s really embarrassing watching the DAZN crew acting like company hype men rather than providing objective commentary. Edgar Berlanga is a bum, who only got this opportunity to become Canelo’s mandatory because of his nationality and who his promoter is. Nobody in their right mind believes Berlanga is deserving or that he has even the slightest chance of beating Canelo. These DAZN shills Mannix, Grisham and Mora along with Berlanga’s snake oil salesman promoter are pathetic, dishonest scumbags for trying to convince people that he is a viable, worthy contender for the undisputed world championship.

I do have a question. Where is McCrory in the ring magazine rankings? Not the phony alphabet rankings. Notice how the only top 10 for McCrory is the WBA. How is he over Plant? Corruption! There have been many unheard of dudes who magically became ranked to pad someone's record.
