If he was he would have stopped Cotto when Cotto was in trouble. And he would have put Zab away too, when Zab wanted a way out.
If the fight had continued, then he would have stopped Zab, probably in that very same round that he quit. While Clottey is not a huge puncher, he has decent power and most of his stoppages come from accumulation.

Agree with that. Also think if Oscar vs. Manny had gone another round or two Oscar would have been knocked out.

I don't put much stock into that though. Oscar was dead man walking that night.

A bigger puncher at WW wouldve had him out in less than 5.

Pac hit him a lot and Oscar still didn't fall.

Well, this has been discussed to death, but I'll still put my $0.02 in.

Early on in fight build-up, Roach mentioned the strategy was to keep moving and not rely on power shots to break Oscar down. That's exactly what happened in the fight -- Pacquiao threw bunches of smaller, stinging shots from unexpected angles and kept on the move constantly. In other words, he didn't commit to trying to KO Oscar at all. Notice at the end of round 7 when Pacquiao cornered Oscar, he looked close to going down at times. From that point I think Pacquiao held back, waiting for round 9 so he could finish him. Reason why is because Freddie had put money on a round 9 KO. Yep, I honestly believe Pacquiao wanted to give Roach a nice little present.

Even if it didn't happen round 9, there is no way Oscar would have seen the final bell. Oscar got a hell of a chin.

Who cares who hits harder, if Pac does half as well as Clottey I'd be shocked. Pac will need a lot more than "hitting hard" to win this fight

No, not at 145 he isn't a bigger puncher. It's the quantity for the full twelve rounds that will really bother Cotto. He won't have a chance to breath. I could be wrong, and he carries his power up with him again.

I do not know if Oscar would have been counted out, but I am sure it would have been stopped with him on his feet, with his arms by his side unable to do anything but take damage.

Right hand leads, being hard as **** to hit. It'd probably be difficult for Clottey. I mean I think Quintana will outbox him, but then again Quintana is a lot bigger than Manny.

Maybe he could have. Corrales is a lot harder to knockout than he is to hurt, and Clottey had him rocked nearly half of the rounds.
