Canelos resume speaks for itself im not even really a fan of the guy I think he’s opportunistic in picking his opponents but that’s boxing. You think he should fight benny, crawford, tszyu, morrel Jr, mungia and another charlo? That’s a crazy fight schedule at 35 years old 67 fights deep. wanting the 2 best guys in a division to fight each other is a crazy ask? not wanting the 2 best guys to fight is crazy fanboyism. bivol is good therefore canelo doesnt have to fight another good fighter? thats your argument? i have to disagree there. canelo is not 35, hes 33, and he was 15 years old when he started his career. you are acting like hes 140 pounds now and we are asking him to fight benavidez. thats not the case. hes been at 168 for 5 years. stop infantilizing him. this is just his MO. he ducked ggg like crazy and only beat him when he was 36 and dubiously. he ducked the third fight until he was 40! he didnt want to fight callum smith until he looked like arse. he didnt want beterbiev because he said he was not a light heavy but then went back to light heavy for bivol and took a loss. now hes ducking benavidez. these arent crazy things or crazy asks. when you have a clear #1 guy and you wont fight him thats shameful. its not like its some random guy that has risen up the rankings like a christian mbili, thats a fight that wouldnt really be necessary at the moment. benavidez has earned it. canelo cant even make up another division to run from him like he did ggg. he simply has to take the criticism because he is scared.

I read in Instagram an interview with reynoso, pretty sure it's on YouTube, he was asked why canelo wasn't taking any risk and I couldn't believe the answer, he said and I quote, that canelo has fought the best fighters in the world already, and wasn't necessary to take risky fights. Here's a guy that call himself the face of boxing holding four belts, and doesn't want to fight the best, this is from his manager/trainer mouth, a guy that makes $50M per fight and doesn't want to provide what he's getting pay for. Shameful

Huh? Canelo is THE most criticized fighter in the history of Boxingscene. When he KOs Benavidez in May he will again be criticized, this time for ducking Christian Mbilli.

Canelo definitely didn't run towards GGG back in the day & doesn't seem to be running towards Benavidez now.

JCC was old school. He kept active, vs lesser guys, but was always fighting his best challengers on the regular. Canelo ain't built like the old school guys. As far as I'm concerned this mfer can retire & go play golf if hes not gonna fight real mfers at his own weight.

I guess Chavez Sr. Is talking about sprinting, possibly 100 meters race given his age. Boxing is not the same as sprinting so maybe Julio has his sports confused.
