That fight against Yildirim was the WBC enforcing it's mandatory (the fight was in Feb of 2021) after Yildirim had been out of the ring for 2 years. So, it's now been over 3 years since the WBC has enforced it's mandatory even though Benavidez has been the "interim" champ for almost 2 years. Mauricio Sulaiman is so far up Canelo's butt he's left Lemmiwinks in the dust.

Canelos resume speaks for itself im not even really a fan of the guy I think he’s opportunistic in picking his opponents but that’s boxing. You think he should fight benny, crawford, tszyu, morrel Jr, mungia and another charlo? That’s a crazy fight schedule at 35 years old 67 fights deep.
