That requires practice , because Cotto is use to standing flat to be able strike his opponents
that's just it,....cotto won't be able to catch manny to make real damage.
pac will be out of harm's way in a jiffy.

That's why Cotto also needs to be in good conditions and move a little quicker to catch up to him.
miguel's quickest is still not enough.
but of course he can catch manny and will have a great exchange.
he needs to time manny and throw his best shot...there won't be many times for him to do it.

use the ring and wait for Cotto to make a mistake and capatilize off
of it, so Cotto is going to have to pressure Manny and control his pace.
it will be foolish to pressure manny...cotto will gas out.
he will be awkward and off balance if he keeps on chasing manny.
cotto's best plan is to anticipate manny's move and time him.
    pushing is allowed, ...
manny has the tendency to brawl when he gets hit....until the bell sounds.
this is where/when cotto should capitalize.

logic tells you that cotto is simply too big for pac. i'm telling you right now that i strongly believe pac will outland cotto in punches at least 3:1 or even 4:1. the only real indicator you could use is...how they performed in their last fights. now you can argue all you want about both fighters last oppositions. diaz, dlh, hatton < clottey, margarito, gomez. but in the end i truly do not think cotto is the same mentally post margarito. either way u look at it. pac is coming off some very dominant wins. idk we'll see, but i srsly see cotto just gassing out after the 8th or 9th round then Pac going for the kill. cuz i really don't think cotto can outlast pac. even though he is the younger guy i realllllly think that through all the tough fights he's been in that he's actually the older boxer in the ring.

I think that Cotto chances in the running or boxing. He cant be the agresive, because pac speed and counter punching will put cotto in trouble, even been more big that pac. I think if cotto box, letting that Pac opens his deffense, is where cotto can use his best skills (timing and counterpunching) to make a effect in pac speed and then in the mid and late round, come a do preassure.

if sparring is the key to winning, you already have a guess who would win this one.

pacquiao sparred with shawn porter, a junior middleweight, urbano antillon a welterweighht and jose luis castillo, former 2-time lightweight champion and now fighting in the welterweight division.

cotto's sparring partners are unknown. his only known sparring partner is ivan calderon, a flyweight!

          bwahahahahahahakhakhakhak!

ok i was looking at a bunch of posts and people saying cotto cuts easily and taht he will get cut by Pacs "razor" hands so i started looking for the facts and...

Pac caused cut-Diaz, Hussein with punches and marquez(2), Barrera(2) with headbutts

Pac has been cut-Solis, Morales(1), Sanchez by headbutt and Marquez (2) by punch

cotto caused cut-Marcias by headbutt and bailey, malignaggi, judah by punch

Cotto has been cut- judah headbutt, and Clottey, urkal by headbutt

interesting because here i found that Cotto has been cut less than Pac and has cut the same amount of people but more with a punch

now none of this is guaranteed since i dont have every fight but i used what i have and got the rest from boxrec and youtube so if there are some i missed or got wrong tell me..i just thought it was interesting

The key to victory is not only in the sparring partners but relies on the entire training and game plan/strategy w/c also includes having very good sparring partners.

I think Cotto's trainer meant a different thing about this, i'm not sure. But the thing is he's a trainer and he supposed to know that sparring is only a part of training preparations, not only physical but mentally as well.
