Cotto's stamina is more important IMO. He can't gas late in this fight.

I agree because we all know Pac will jump all over the ring and Cotto needs to keep a good pace to keep up

Problem is that I can't think of anyone that fights like Pac. He is very unorthdox (and not just because he has his right foot forward).

You people act like there is more than one Cotto out there. Cotto will be fine. It'll be a good fight regardless. I think someone gets KOd by 8

Perhaps Miguel should refrain from coffee and bran muffins?

going to have to back him up and kind of push him to where he wants
Manny to be. Manny is not going to bring it to Cotto. He is going to
use the ring and wait for Cotto to make a mistake and capatilize off
of it, so Cotto is going to have to pressure Manny and control his pace.
I'm not sure where you got this notion that Manny is even able to box well. Manny is a 100% pure offensive fighter, his defense is simply throwing punches back. There's nothing wrong with that at all, he's one of my favorite fighters, but he fights FAR worse going backward than he fights coming forward. Cotto doesn't fight backwards as well as he does forward either, however, he isn't terrible fighting backwards. He gave Margarito a boxing lesson for 6 rounds, and even assuming there was no foul play on Marg's part, he just can't do it for 12 rounds. But against Manny he won't need to be, he'll be the far bigger man this fight unlike he was against Marg and Clottey.

I see a few problems for both guys in this fight which is why it is so intriguing. For Manny, he drops his right when he throws that left not when he's in control, but when he's "fighting back" he gets wild as we saw in the Hatton fight and everything before the DLH fight. Sure, he didn't do it during the DLH fight but he was in total control for the entire fight, while the 2nd round of the Hatton I saw him revert to the warrior in him. He'll never rid himself of it because that's what makes him Manny. However, in this fight its a bad thing IMO. If he gets into even an occassional slugfest with Cotto, I think it spells disaster. It might not be a KO, but it will allow Cotto to get some punches to the body and wear Manny down. Along with the warrior in him and dropping his right, the third thing I feel Manny's weakness in this fight is Cotto's jab. When Manny throws that left, he also ducks his head down and he is VERY open to a jab, if Cotto's able to land that then I see problems for Manny.

However, this is not going to be a push over for Cotto as he has flaws as well. These can all be summed up with a few simple questions:

                    Will Cotto's stamina hold up?
Will that cut be completely healed?
                    Will the weight affect Cotto?
Will Cotto be able to handle Manny's speed?
Is the Margarito fight really behind Cotto?

Essentially there's A LOT of questions about Cotto, he's very susceptible in this fight. However, Cotto also has some things in his favor. Most importantly he'll be the bigger fighter in this fight, people have said he retreats too much now, but he has been in there against guys that are coming in at 170 in Clottey and Marg about 165. Cotto was giving up as much weight as Manny very well may be, and he suffered a horrific cut. Not to mention people for some reason were expecting Cotto to run all over Clottey for some reason... this is a guy who was never even knocked down in his career and also a guy who was coming in at what Pavlik comes in on/around on fight night, this was a big guy. With Marg... he may have had loaded gloves, if a guy is literally fighting you with a cast on his hand essentially... that is going to takes it toll.

With that this is quite possibly the most important fight of both of these guys careers. For Cotto it most certainly is, for Manny... the DLH fight may have been more important for his career, while I think this fight will solidify his legacy. He beat a man Mayweather hadn't faced, he won his 7th title and he would have beaten a legitimate WW. So many questions and things at stake in this fight, this is going to be a ATG fight IMO.

I sure hope Calderon isn't in the picture. I am not sure how effective Santiago's training regime is on Cotto, It was hard to tell with the Clottey fight. Regardless I got Cotto tko11
