Maybe if Benavidez laid off that nose candy and didn’t lose his title on the scales he would be in a stronger position and not begging for a payday like GGG used to.

Fight happens or doesn’t Canelo’s legacy is set.
Canelo was asked why he didn't want a Trilogy fight with Golovkin in 2019 (a year after the rematch) when the promoter DAZN network, & GGG WANTED IT. Canelo said “GGG has NOTHING to offer” so what changed? GGG becoming 41 years of age was the major activation energy for Canelo to mysteriously find his pen again... Benavidez has been wbc number 1 for donkeys years and is interim champion. If Canelo is too scared to fight him the wbc should just cancel their championship at 168lbs because blatantly ducking Benavidez makes a mockery of the rankings and all the other fighters who are fighting for/defending regional titles.

I think knowledge of Canelo ducking Benavidez is now starting to seep into the casual audience so I'd say at this point he really needs to fight him otherwise it will tarnish his "legacy" and it will forever be remembered as a pu$$y move in the same vein as Rid**** Bowe dropping the wbc title in the trash can to avoid Lewis or Sugar Ray Leonard calling a press conference, inviting Marvin Hagler, to then only to announce he would never give him a rematch.

He’s afraid of getting stopped and that Benavidez TKO/KO lost will tarnish his career a bit. His fans always say “look at his resume and names he’s fought!” But if you look at those opponents they were already one foot out the door when Canelo fought them

What changed was DAZN upped his guaranteed purse from the original $35 million they offered to $50 million. Canelo said all along he didn’t need the GGG trilogy but if DAZN wanted it they would have to make it worth it for him and they did.

And casuals have no idea who Benavidez is and DGAF about that fight.

Canelo didn't win the rematch, an opinion shared by a overwhelming majority of viewers at press row. It's not surprising he was awarded the win with that corrupt crook Steve weisfield on the judging panel. This is not about GGG anyway it's about Canelo being a DUCKER and convicted PED user. Canelo could've fought Jermall when they were both at Showtime but he didn't did he?

Canelo didn't beat Krusher Kovalev he beat an old alcoholic just coming off a war with Anthony Yarde 6 weeks prior who had a rehydration clause slapped on him for the first time in his career... Plant is ***ing dog-chit lool and he fought Cotto at a 155lbs catchweight where on fight night he rehydrated to at least 15lbs more than him. Canelo's whole resume is an illusion, if you can't see that you're incredibly biased.
Man lol. No one forced anyone to take those fights. Cotto drained one legged Martinez to 159 for the MW Belt if u remember correctly. I get it the kovalev fight was a quick turnaround but he destroyed him and he was the still the LHW champ. Plant I only referenced because he’s the only common opponent canelo and benevidez have and 1. He was champ when canelo beat him 2. He beat him MUCH more easily than benevidez did throwing half as many punches landing at a much higher connect rate won every round AND scored the KO. I ain’t really a fan of many of these current boxers I like a few. Canelo is ok. He already fought bivol which is a tougher fight than benevidez and was at a higher weight. He clearly beat GGG twice despite your opinion. Their first fight I scored to ggg 115-113. He got jobbed on the draw but I’ve seen worse. Tito vs ODLH springs to mind which was a bigger fight too. Thing is GGG gave the last 4 rounds away coasting. Kind of like what ODLH vs tito but nelo GGG was closer than tito DLH. I actually think canelo would do ok vs benevidez it’s not a clear Benny victory but he’s got all the advantages, size strength age reach etc. canelo is the best counter puncher in boxing tho and he has great power. It’s a great fight. One I think will happen. People need to be patient tho

Of course Canelo doesn’t owe us anything. None of these guys owe us anything. We’re watching, they’re putting their brain cells on the line. A more fair and realistic question, is should Canelo hold belts and be on p4p lists if he isn’t fighting the best contenders in his division?

I'm Indifferent to Canelo fighting David but he needs to **** or get off the pot. Relinquish the belts and just fight whoever you want without mandatories. He doesn't need the belts to sell anyways.

Benavidez landed at 38% Canelo 32%, he also landed twice as many punches on Plant, and despite not stopping him he put a longer sustained beating on Plant that Canelo did, who didn't beat him up at all until he caught him. Canelo did not win every round he lost 3-4 rounds. You literally got everything wrong. Plus Benavidez did it in a bigger ring vs and improved Plant and a corrupt Ref helping Plant.
