I still see him on Top Rank cards mostly. I used to see him often on PBC cards serving as interim promoter, but then all PBC fighters were probably told to start their own promotional companies, promote themselves so they can take whatever Dibella used to get.

So where is someone like Lou, Joe, or Kathy going to sell content or get a TV date?

They can provide opponents, and maybe get an occasional co-promotional credit or even a banner on the light grid, but thats about it thanks option the current TV market......
Salita just signed a deal with DAZN, first show is Tuesday. Eye of the Tiger appears to have some sort of deal with TR/ESPN for awhile now. Seems like its still doable.

There definitely seems to be less options tho, thats probably why so many small venue promoters are doing FITE, BXNG or random PPV platform shows.

Earlier on PBC had a roster of promoters they dealt with on the reg. Lou was one of them. Jesse James Leija was promoting shows. Marshall Kaufman did shows. Floyd did shows. Warriors. Others I dont even recall anymore. Tom Brown is the only guy left now tho it seems like.

            This.

Networks having exclusive agreements with promoters = the death of mid-sized promoters like Dibella, Main Events, Shaw, etc.

Also the death of quality boxing cards on TV in the USA.

Major promoters just stack their TV cards and PPVs with one-sided showcases top to bottom now. Upsets are rarer than ever.

Lou signs fighters the major guys don't want and develops them the best he can, then sells/leases their contract to someone with a TV deal like Top Rank/PBC/GBP if they happen to strike gold, like when Kambosis upset Teo.

Agree with a lot of what you are saying but the rare upset take seems way off. Think there was like 2 or 3 upsets this week & there have been two +1000 or wider upsets this year already 6wks in. Upsets happen more in the last few yrs more than I ever recall in the past. Fight Ghost on twitter tracks dog wins & the lists are long each year. Might be that there are more fights on TV than ever too, but upsets are definitely not rarer than ever.

                Ryad Merhy's (32(26ko)-2(1ko)-0) last 5:

IMO Merhy is barely a stay busy fight, they're just going to hype his record against Anderson.

edit: does Anderson not get his own thread?

Lou has burned a lot of bridges with the promoters on TV. Unfortunately that has a knock on effect.

I like he has balls, like how he tried to set up the DAZN deal for Wilder and then called him out for rejecting it... but it's not how you make friends.
