Good fight. I think it’ll be fairly easy work for Boots but Crowley is game as hell and will be coming to win so who knows.

This is the fight that should have been ordered for the vacant IBF belt, instead of just elevating Ennis (I don't care about the "interim" status or whatever). To echo what a buddy of mine said when Ennis was elevated, they robbed Boots of the in ring celebration of winning a title. Not saying Cody doesn't have a chance, but rather EVERY champion should achieve that status in the ring, not via email.Comment

He's the top rated guy in the division besides Crawford, Spence, and Ennis himself. Crawford and Spence probably aren't coming back to 147. So who the hell else is he supposed to fight? Santillan? Barrios? Stanionis?Comment

You made me try to think of a good challenging fight for Ennis and I had to go to boxrec rankings to see who actually still fights welterweight. In the lat 18 months this division got decimated. Crawford, Spence rematch?, Virgil moved up weight as well as Thurman. Stanionis is/was waiting on some fight (truly can’t remember), but him vs boots isn’t happening at this juncture either. So hope this fight gets made, first to keep both guys active and even though I don’t think crawly has much of a chance, he earned the position he’s in and it’s sad he’s had 4 fights in last 4 years.Comment

Ye i just looked over the top 10. Pretty awful all around. He should just move up to 154 then right? He is a huge weight bully who could be fighting easily at 160. Seems like he wants to sit at 147 and fight cans.Comment

When did he last do that? The late replacement Kyrone Davis? He has moved on from that stage of his career, while Boots has not. David has the biggest fight in the sport waiting at 168, what the hell is Boots waiting for?Comment
