This guy looked great busting up D & C level guys hence why he got the buzz from all the first round knockouts he had. But soon as he stepped up a little bit he hasn't looked good since don't think he's had a stoppage since and got outboxed in parts in them fights aswell. He fights munguia he gets dropped

From a growth standpoint, he desperately needed those last 5 fights and 50 odd rounds. Sure he's had to eat humble pie during that time period, but he needed those rounds.

Berlanga sucks. A true underachiever. Matchroom only signed him because they thought Canelo was staying and Berlanga was going to be an easy opponent to satisfy Canelo. DAZN told Hearn they had enough of Canelo fighting pizza drivers. So Canelo bolted to PBC and is now looking for easy fights at 168. One down, two to go.

He's a good prospect, but he's gonna need to be better than just a good fighter with heavy hands to compete against(let alone win) the Morrells, Benavidez', and Canelos of the world. That streak and the hype that came with it from the casuals was probably the worst thing to happen to this guy.
