It was for Lennox, Bowe and the Klitschkos.

At face value, yes its an advantage. overrated advantage? probably, because there are so many styles and strategies to negate that advantage. Even more of an issue with having weight classes if you are super tall for your division fighting guys the same weight they are more compact and muscular. You had unskilled lanky ***s gettng mauled by baby canelo.

Most of their advantage comes from reach, you can have an abnormally long reach for your weight and be normal height, like mayweather.

Now if they know how to "fight tall" you can keep your head out of your opponents reach, see Tyson fury when hes boxing like the first wilder fight and Vitali Klitschko as well, standing up straight they can keep their head out of range.

Usyk has that spring up jab, where he jabs upwards , bivol uses that too, I expect he will use it on fury, that gives him an advantage of being shorter, it makes that jab very powerful. jabbing downword you cant put your legs into it the same way.

Yeah Lennox is a good example. Wlad pre steward used to hunch over and negate his height and fight more aggressive, then steward taught him to fight tall, use his reach, clinch when needed, a lot like lewis. Vitali kind of always fought tall.

A lot of guys with long reach they dont fight well on the inside. Wlad wasnt a great inside fighter. Lewis had a good uppercut and good clinching. Floyd he is always using his elbows to make space, its cheating but he has to do it to create space he has long arms. If you got short T rex arms like Tyson then fighting inside is easier but its still possible with long arms just have to adjust.

Wlad wasn’t good at inside fighting because he was liable for those short strong punches that come from awkward angles and his chin wouldn’t hold up
Main reason why Steward drove him in the direction of fighting at distance and showing him how to clinch when trouble was brewing

Not if you know how to use it. Being a short fighter can be an advantage too IF YOU NNOW HOW TO USE IT. Ask Mike Tyson.

If you know how to use your height and reach effectively, yes its a very significant advantage.

yup. Mayweather never fought anyone with a reach advantage over him.

this is a game of inches.

the taller you are, the better, if you're not giving too much away in terms of co-ordination and speed.
