Haney is not that bad. There is a reason why would Tank fight Benn, but not Haney. KO artists are overrated.

He has his moments sure but he has never put on a performance like the other two just did, ever.
In fact his last few fights have been pretty decent, the Loma bout especially.

I gotta agree with the OP.
How can watching any of those guys fight bring New fans ?
Sure. Some posters on here will say " Ortiz boxed beautifully " , " Teo couldn't cut off the ring ".
Sorry guys.
Any Un-biased observer will just tell you they saw a Boring ass fight.

I would not lump Haney and Shakur w/ Ortiz …. At the end of the day there is levels to this….I mentioned something about this regarding Shakur in another thread, he actually had some good fights against Herring, Valdez, Yoshino ….But then stunk it up against DLS, not my preferred style of fighter but I can appreciate it when executed properly ……

First thing they need to do in boxing is make all the rings smaller and not the size of a car port. Ortiz last night just did laps and laps around the ring, looked like a poor man’s De La Hoya against Trinidad. Can’t win that way

I love a good barnburner scrap but I also enjoy the sweet science. Different fighters have different skill sets they have to use in order to gain the victory. It's been that way since the gladiators when one dude with a net was fighting another dude with a sword. It's the contrast in styles and how they try to defeat their opponent that makes boxing more than a backyard brawl.
Last night's debacle kinda reminded me of the Casimero/Rigo fight (although I'd argue Ortiz was more successful in his offense than Rigo was).
There are a handful of fans on this board that seem frustrated Teo can't effectively cut off the ring or jab. The answer for them is that elusive fighters like Ortiz and Martin (who dropped Teo twice) just stand in front of Lopez rather than Teofimo developing some actual boxing skills.Cobra Curry likes this.
