You don’t retain your title by talking bollocks on social media….you retain it by beating the top challengers and fury has done none of that
Come may if fury don’t face off with usyk then he will be stripped of his title…….the Saudis have all ready said if fury pulls out in may then they move on to other plans

Manchild makes another impulsive statement on social media. Fascinating.

Fury in August 2023: "Who knows how long I've got left. Maybe not long..... maybe a year, maybe two years, maybe one fight, who knows."
Fury in October 2023: "What happens in the future stays in the future. I’m living for today and this moment."
Fury Febraury 2023: I've got five fights mapped out and I'm in my prime.

The real question he still has to answer is why he took the Ngannou fight rather than give all fight fans what they wanted, which was the Usyk fight for undisputed.

Why wouldn't Fury take the Ngannou fight, Usyk's team already admitted at that point they didn't even try to negotiate for the Wembley fight in April...

And Usyk had just fought in August, Fury hadn't fought since Dec of the previous year, you really think Fury is going to give an activity edge to a technical wizard like Usyk in a game of inches, don't forget Fury is in the driving seat...

                Do us all a favour.

Lose against Usyk and retire. You've got nothing left to offer the boxing world.

Let's get to the May 18th fight without pulling out before we even start talking about a rematch. Also what is the point of fighting AJ if he loses or Ngannou if he loses? If AJ sparks out Ngannou nobody is gonna pay to see him fight Fury again...it is pointless.

Fury signed to fight Usyk in December 2023. The Ngannou fight in October jeopardised that fight. If he needed a tune up, then there was months before that he could have taken it.

By taking the fight, Fury was happy to put the undisputed fight at risk (this is the answer to your question of: why shouldn't he have taken it). Your point about giving an "activity edge" would only make sense if fighting an MMA fighter with no professional boxing record is a good way of getting rid of ring rust. I would contend it was more about getting well paid without needing to train properly than about tuning up, as you could see from his physical condition in the fight.

Two Usyks, Two Joshuas, and a Franny rematch is pretty much saying yeah I'm close to retirement I got a couple years left.
