I agree that Tim is a bad commentator but the guy was a boxer turned commentator
You can see him coming a mile away and if you’ve heard him before , you know what he’s going to say ahead of time
He’s very repetitive and dwells on the same topic repetitively
As you said , seems like the same six things just described in different words or different settings
He is arrogant and that comes off wrong in the eyes of the viewers but he does have some points which make sense , he just doesn’t know how to get his point across
Take for example this post , there are more than 40 comments so in some way he is getting a reaction out of people whether we think it’s right or wrong
He needs someone to guide him through imo , that would help get his point across without sounding obnoxious or arrogant

I think this could be coming from anyone and it would still get responses because of the ******ity. People will always turn up to drag a bad take.

Thing is, he IS arrogant with a deep need to be more important than everyone else. It's part of who he is, which I suppose is common among top boxers, but it's not good fodder for commentary. I'd be willing to bet we'd get way better commentary from a good coach than a great fighter.

Probably but I think people tune in to see what he’s going to say next
        Bad publicity is good publicity
The problem with trainers doing commentary is they get to deep into the subject when in all reality you have a few minutes to get your point across
Commentary will always be subjective no matter which way you turn

Fair. I think it would be neat to see a trainer doing a tactical breakdown that they could run spots between rounds or before the fight though.

I don't care for Munguia at all but Canelo will NOT fight anyone with a pulse on a leveled ground.

It makes it far more interesting to fight fans but does it keep the casuals in its seat ?

I bet that Boxing fans from Mexico would love to see Munguia beat Canelo since the King Of Boxing aura is wearing off and Mexican fans are waiting for him to fight another live body and not part time chemically emotional Unbalanced boxers and UK domestic killers for the last 4-5 years.

Canelo has kinda over staying his time as “king of boxing”‘without wanted to challenge himself. Why the hesitation on fighting Benavidez? He doesn’t want to get stopped viciously

Based on my experience, yes. I've got basically nothing but casuals to watch with, and they tend to comment that they really appreciate when someone points out technical details so they better understand what's happening. My wife loves to make fun of Bradley for his comment about how a guy "is a boxer, you know, he's a boxer's boxer" with zero context. I tried to explain what he meant, but if I have to do that, I've already lost her.

Imagine watching any sport without knowing the rules, for instance. The trick is whether they can make the technical commentary still accessible. Chilson and Franklin do a pretty good job of that on some of the ONE broadcasts. They'll explain briefly what the fighter is going for, and what you're likely going to see them try next, and they're right more often than not. Rogan does a good job sometimes too.

Yeah but I find there’s a difference with mma
I find there is more lapses and more time to actually explain
In boxing it’s kind of hard when someone gets off a six punch combination and to explain what lead to that big uppercut , without missing out on the next action
i would actually enjoy more what they used to do on HBO when they would bring in trainers and explain before the fight what they though would be the ways to victory and explaining each fighters style and go to punch
Also , in between fights , most times they have and are killing time talking nonsense , I’d like to see more discussion ( could be trainers or fighters ) explaining what we can anticipate seeing and what they believe will be their go to punches and how they can get them off
Tell your wife she’s not the only one confused with the many statements of you know he’s a boxer , a boxer boxxer lol

Both are frauds who pick their opponents when they're in a bad way or they'll duck them and wait until they're in a bad way. But Canelo brings a lot more fans along than Munguia does. It's not even close.
