In regard to Fury, I was glad when he came back from hell to "draw" with Wilder, but have progressively been fed up with the subsequent years.
I've been a genuine fan just thrice in over fifty years: Dwight Braxton, Mike Tyson, Azumah Nelson.
Hrgovic even since literally before the Olympics has been dining out on a reputation he hasn't earned.
He has some good attributes, he's got decent skill level, can punch a bit, can take a shot which is a big positive.
But he fights like he literally has ADD and starts daydreaming in the middle of fights, he fights down to the level of his opponents and looks downright pedestrian at times.
His amateur Career was decent, but he lost to basically all the names you recognize on his amateur record.
I think Hrgovic is overrated for the same reason Arslenbek Makhmudov was: He's big, he looks hard and he's got an eastern euro sounding last name.
We STILL need to find out if he's got much more than that.
As far as Fury goes, I also feel the same as you.
To be CLEAR here, I did NOT expect Fury would be able to come back and beat Wilder, he already surpassed my wildest expectations by doing that.
But since then he's disappeared up his own ass and become everything he claimed he hated.
The fact that after beating wilde fury has gone on to be the biggest dissapointment in boxing is crazy to me, he's flitted his talent away and made bad move after bad move to the point it's just sad.Tatabanya likes this.

I always try to remain a neutral observer, but - being only human - I have had a few fighters that I really disliked. Case in point, Oscar De La Hoya.
I don't dislike Hrgovic, not at all. Only, I do not think as highly of him as a fighter as many other do. Time will tell if I am wrong, of course.
Fury is a different problem altogether, which our friend Atypicalbrit analyzed to perfection in his last post. I was so enthusiastic about Fury's redemption, and I was ready to accept him as a leading figure in the HW picture (as I had done, to be fair, with Joshua until he ran into Ruiz Jr).
But Fury disappointed me enormously with his overall behavior of the last few years. Looks like he's an intelligent man willing to appear like an idiot. And, most probably, he's remained stuck in the "****** rich" frame of mind that usually spells disaster for a fighter.

The heavyweight division is full of drama and full of lies
