Kubrat Pulev ranked 10 by the WBA

With a mooted Charr - Pulev fight in Bulgaria I wondered how this would be justified by the WBA. Well, their new rankings were released yesterday and he's magically found his way into number 10.

Totally ridiculous, Pulev hasn't had a win of top 20 calibre unless (and even this ones arguable) we go back to Hughie Fury in 2018.

    Its 2024!

remember that wba moved ali raymi up in rankings while he was dead. there is NOTHING (bad) they can do that will surprise me.
hopefully pulev or charr retires after this fight and the one retires after the next fight which i expect them to lose. just order the winner to fight bakole and everything will be solved.

Hahah! But seeing a ranking where Charr is next to Usyk, while all the fighters after him are better speaks for itself.

The WBA have now published the ratings movements: https://www.wbaboxing.com/wp-content...nuary-2024.pdf

Their rationale for moving Pulev to 10 simply reads: "Kubrat Pulev enters at position No. 10 because he will fight vs. Charr on March 30"

Great, so he's rated because we need him to be rated.

I like their rationale for rating Wilder:
Deontay Wilder enters at position No 9 due to activity, record and caliber of opponents. Was taken out of the ratings by mistake

You'd think they'd run these past someone before publishing so they don't look like fools.
