The problem in this sport is everything is exaggerated such as PPV outcome, how much fighter A, B, C made. How much exactly was offered to so and so, etc. Nah, I don't even believe these PPV numbers. Showtime's Espinoza himself in an article long time ago got sick and tired of people asking for official numbers. He never released anything official since.
Then you have Youtube clickbaiting liars disseminating fake news such as Haney offering $8 million to Stevenson, as an example. Which was the 15% Haney allegedly offered. Which means Haney would suppoedly be getting $32 million in a fight which Top Rank supposedly make. Then you have Youtbers lying bastards that say Wilder made $20 million in the Helenius fight...aargh... The environment is so different from just a few years ago when $1 million purse was a standard for step up fights. Now you have lying bastards claiming so and so made $15 million in a fight that is the size of a Garcia vs Salka fight.
Point is no one have any access to real figures. Everything is made up.
Yup. Hard to trust figures that come out these days when tons of lies are spread around with no real consequences.
Here we have cRyin Garcia supposedly made tons of money in the Tank fight, yet he's still desperate looking for fights. Then we had Charlo making ample amount in the Canelo fight, and he's on a long vacation enjoying his million dollars, don't care about taking his next fight. Did Ryin really made that much or the figures being spread around are bogus?
Kambosos had 3 belts. Loma was going to concede the same deal, every fighter would’ve been B side to Kam.
2. can’t look at ppv numbers as I said, garcia only ppv was with Tank. have to look at viewership numbers and Haney’s done more numbers on regular networks (DAZN, ESPN).
3. He brings in more? $$ again, where’s this evidence?
Haney’s been paid more 9 times out of his last 10 fights. Haney sold more tickets against Regis than Garcia did against Duarte and earned a bigger purse.
Seems like you are trying to have your cake and eat it too . You want to discredit Ryan for having by far the biggest PPV out of the two because it was w/ tank .But then try to give credit to Haney when comparing Ryan vs Duarte ,w/ Haney vs Regis when Regis is a far bigger name than Duarte and that fight was in Haney's backyard.
A star incompasses all factors : ppv, ticket sales, earnings , endorsements , social media followers and influence.
pinning down , net worth, career earnings , ticket sales for boxing is all over the place depending on source .
Google : devin haney career earnings, Google : ryan garcia career earnings
Haney has a net worth of about $5 million., Haney is endorsed by nutrition supplement company SNAC, Haney is extremely active on social media. He has over 1.2 million followers on Instagram, 161.9k followers on Twitter, and over 12K followers on Facebook.
Ryan Garcia has a net worth of around $10 million, Garcia’s main sponsor is Gymshark, an apparel and accessories brand. He has also worked with 1800 Tequila, Dior, and Gatorade. Garcia is one of the most popular athletes on social media. He has more than 5.3 million followers on TikTok, 201K followers on Twitter, and 9.5 million followers on Instagram.
You started a thread , and seems like you are upset it has not gone your way . Everyone that has replied literally has said Ryan is the bigger star , it is what it is.
Haney wouldn't be looking for a fight with Ryan if he wasn't a bigger name. Same with Tank. Haney wanted that fight, Tank did not. Haney needs a big name to get any sort of ratings or PPV buys. Ryan is low-risk/high reward. That's why Haney isn't looking to unify with Teo, too much risk and not enough reward.

I didn’t start the thread for anyone to agree with me, I started the thread to hear arguments with valid points. So far I’ve heard very few just childish commenters, you’ve probably provided the best argument though I still don’t agree.
I’m not talking about anything non-boxing related such as social media because people have criticised Ryan’s viewership numbers many times on TV because those followers haven’t translated into views.
Since you said a star encompasses all factors, then being undisputed and a two weight champion certainly has to get thrown in the mix.
I’m not discrediting Ryan at all, he’s a ‘name’.
We don’t have to discuss Ryan vs Duarte in comparison to Haney vs Regis.
We can compare their last 10 fights and Haney has earned more in every single fight bar the Tank fight. One sole fight is your main point, if we compare all of them it’s not even close. VIEWERSHIP wise, TICKET wise or PURSE wise. But we’ll agree to disagree and I respect you didn’t throw out childish insults.
As relates to your point above.
if/when Ryan is the B side against Haney and he earns the lesser split will you concede lol?

I don't think you understand how this stuff works.
Haney is guaranteed a bigger split because Haney is the champion, and that's part of sanctioning organization rules. That's a ****** thing to bet on.
What demonstrates star power is that the full purse will be bigger vs Ryan than it would be against anyone else. If you really want to look at facts, which it seems evident you don't, you'd look at what Ryan's opponents make vs him vs what they make in other fights. What they make in other fights is their proven earning pull. What will you say if they fight and Haney makes more vs a contender in Ryan than he did against a champion in Prograis? Tank Davis was averaging 250K buys by himself. That jumped up to 1.2 million vs Ryan.
You're still missing the point that social media followers equal casual appeal, and that's money.
You said you didn't agree with Brother Mouzone but he literally laid out facts for you. Haney's net worth is lower by far than Ryan's. You can look at their social media accounts and see how many followers they have for yourself. As of this post, Haney has 2.6 million on Instagram. Ryan has 10.3 million.
Social media followers are absolutely an indicator of financial pull. Look who else is a huge pull. Jake Paul. He's got 25.8 million followers on the Gram and has proven to be a huge PPV pull despite being a mediocre fighter. Canelo has 16.7 million. Tyson Fury has 6.7 million. AJ has 16.1 million. Those are all the guys with proven PPV pulls over 400k. The outlier on Instagram is Inoue, because the big social media app in Japan is LINE, rather than the big ones in the West. He's got a ton of followers there, and he does huge business in Japan.
Then look at guys who don't have good buys. Look how poorly Benavidez (466k) v Andrade (1 mil) did. If you can't even get a couple million people to follow you for free on social media, how are they supposed to buy tickets or PPV to watch you fight?
Bud Crawford only has 1.6 million, and that's recent since becoming undisputed.
It's kinda sad, but fighters that have solid social media presence are going to be bigger stars than ones who don't.
