A Canadian born HW who I hoped would be a contender one day. EOTTM protected him after he lost to Carman. I always wanted him & Makhmudov to fight to see who was their best HW. Good on Kean for realizing at 35 he was never going to get to the next level.Good luck to my fellow Canadian in his post boxing life.

Not a bad idea to get out while young and not become a punch bag, hopefully he made some money from his Saudi fight he can invest smartly.

Never had any real ambitions outside Canada, when 23 of your 25 fights were in Canada you can’t be serious about boxing on a global scale there’s levels .

He can call himself a Canadian national champion there’s that when he talks about boxing but odds were stacked in his favor being semi athletic and 6”5 he didn’t have much competition as Canada boxing isn’t its strength. Mahkmudov still would have crushed a guy like this but Mahkmudov isn’t a real Canadian he’s a Russian born fighter .

It's better to leave when it's obvious you will never be a champion than to end up like fellow Quebec fighter Stiverne and take fights to pay the bills and take horrific beatings that will age you quickly after a forced retirement because no promoters will give you pay days against their prospects and come backing contenders.
