TBRB rankings: Munguia goes in at 5

Following Jaime Munguia's KO victory over John Ryder he has displaced the latter from his number 5 position in the 168 division. Deservedly so in my opinion.

The top 5 read as below, with nominal champion Canelo only having faced one of them (Plant). Benavidez is most deserving, but anything other than facing one of his top 5 challengers next is unacceptable. He might hold all four belts, but he's very much a disputed champion at this point.

    This makes no sense.

When he faced Smith, Saunders etc they would've been on the list, and aren't anymore as they lost. Just like Ryder.

Ryder put up a better showing than both tbf. I think both Smith and Saunders would’ve stayed in the top 10 too if not for inactivity and moving up in weight.

Callum is still #10 at LHW for example despite not winning a fight since what? August 2022?

Are you implying that because he faced top 5 contenders in the past he never has to again?

I don't think that was his point. He's one of those people who thinks there's no need for someone in Canelo's position to continually prove themselves the best in their division.

            No, thats just your imagination.

He has beaten many top 5 contenders. They just arent any more, or aren't in the division anymore.

Of course we all want to see him face more. Same goes for all of the top guys.

Just pointing out this is a pointless thread.

Yikes. TBRB used to be the best. So.. why the hell is Mbili ranked #2? He has never fought a top20 fighter and never even boxed a 12 round fight. What the helll? There is 0 proof that he's better than Plant or even Ryder.

He was elevated to #2 after he beat #5 ranked Carlos Gongora. Mbilli was ranked #7 at the time.

That still shouldn't put him over Morrell. He's been the top ranked contender for the WBA for a long time, and would have gotten offered the Morrell fight before. WBA just makes themselves look more like a bad joke every day.
