I was about to say this is a quality article from Hans, but has footer notes from Sean Nam? Either way this feels more like proper journalism highlighting the hypocrisy between Russian fighters and Saudi fights.

The irony of anyone involved in the business side of arguably the most corrupt sport in the history of the world adopting a moral stance on a nation’s foreign policy is monumental.
If you look up ‘Hypocrisy’ in the latest edition of the OED there’s just a picture of Mr Sulaiman.

Artur Beterbiev Vs. Dmitry Bivol 175 Pound Unification Looks Headed To June 1st In Saudi Arabia
              01/25/2024 - By James Slater

Great news for fight fans the world over. The biggest light heavyweight fight that can be made, in fact, one of the biggest fights of recent years regardless of weight class, has a working date. Artur Beterbiev Vs. Dmitry Bivol, for all the marbles at 175 pounds, is headed towards a June 1st date, this according to Dan Rafael.

The fight will take place in, yes, you guessed it, Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh. Beterbiev, unbeaten and the reigning WBC, WBO, IBF light heavyweight champ, wants the fight. Bivol, unbeaten and the reigning WBA boss, wants the fight equally as much. Now, as Rafael writes, there are no impediments that could throw a spanner in the works as far as getting this fight over the line.

That WBC scumbag will sanction the fight or his pockets will miss out on the fees. I would just Riddick Bowe the belt right before the match is signed. Everyone knows it’s for the undisputed title. **** the WBC…

Sulaiman is the biggest hypocrite in boxing. While Sulaiman rightly takes issue with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he shows you what a two faced hypocrite he is when he has no issue with Saudi’s history on human rights, the killing of journalist Khashoggi, and the Saudis funding of the 911 terrorist, he proudly takes photos with Kinahan who is directly involved in boxing and who is wanted by the U.S. and EU for murder, drug and weapons trafficking. That is what you call the height of hypocrisy.

The Saudi’s can rid us of these corrupt sanctioning bodies in a minute by having their own championship belt. I just don’t think Turkie is smart enough to figure that out, because at the end of the day, who the F cares about the four corrupt sanctioning bodies.

Turkie, besides the massive money you’re paying boxers, your belt, inlaid with gold, diamonds, and other precious metals and NO sanction fees, would put Sulaiman and the other 3 corrupt sanctioning bodies out of business overnight! That belt alone would be more valuable than the plastic garbage fighters have to pay the corrupt sanctioning Mafia family of four.

Imagine fans getting the fights that we want before their expiration dates ( think Mayweather v Pacquiao which was 5 years too late) and doing away with mandatory defenses that nobody gives a sheet about. That besides neutral and impartial oversight and a Ali Act with real teeth that protects fighters from corrupt Promoters and Managers is what the sport desperately needs.

While you’re at it, do the same with the dude who slaps his wife in public, and Saudi Arabia would be the Kingdom of Boxing and the vastly underpaid MMA fighters. What are you waiting for?
