I'm not on board with him facing Boots yet. I think Boots needs to really make himself a marquee in boxing among non-boxing fans. He's not there yet at all. For him to go directly to Crawford is like skipping the line. He MIGHT be worthy skill wise of sharing the ring with Crawford, but has he earned his place to share the ring yet?
I know we can always say, well, he hasn't face this guy or that guy and it's like playing Street Fighter. You keep picking a different fighter until you find the right guy to beat the man, but this is boxing and Crawford earned his place through hard work. He deserves to pick his next opponent and "cash out" while he's still at the top of his game. Boots time will come, even if it isn't against Crawford. Boots honestly reminds me of a young upcoming Errol Spence Jr. Though Errol worked his way up also like Crawford. Hell, he went over seas to get that strap from Brooks. Boots needs to put in more work and if he never faced Crawford, I'm completely fine with that.
Perhaps Boots and Teo should get it on and the winner has more stock to face Crawford.Comment

Boots would lose to Bud right now
Crawford looking for money and Boots is not the solution to that equation
If Boots would keep busy , just maybe a bone would be thrown in his direction but instead him and his dad go around shooting down every fighter mentioned
But they’re fast , them and their fans , to accuse Bud of ducking when they won’t even face a say Mean MachineComment

That's usually the case when either fans don't like a fighter or they have their own favorite and hope that favorite can beat X fighter that they don't like. Again, it's like picking fighters in a video game until you can find the right one that beats the one nobody can beat. They'll continue to say he didn't face this guy or that guy to discredit where he's at.

He does? Really? Then where are they? Perhaps, he does. It's just that we have not seen them yet. However, I would say selling out a theatre that hardly seats more than 3900 people is not my definition of one of having a huge fan base. Also, Bud's last pay per view sold nearly 1 million buys vs Spence.Comment

Since you used “a young upcoming Spence who worked his way up like Crawford” as a measuring barometer, let’s have a look at the last 5 guys he fought before “earning” a shot at Brook- Leonard Bungu
- Chris Algieri
- Alejandro Barrera
- Chris Van Heerden
- Phil LoGreco
Spence was 27 years old when he got his shot at Brook.
Now let’s look at Boots last 5 opponents- Villa
- Karen C
- Custio Clayton
- Thomas Duloe
- Sergei Lipiners
- Chris Van Heerden (same guy Spence beat 4 years earlier)
Boots will be 27 IF he gets his shot at Bud AND has exactly the same resume as Spence at the same age so why should he still “fight other nondescript guys to earn his shot”?
I am not saying Boots will beat Bud. He deserves a shot.
Brook could have chased other fighters and made more money but he gave Spence a shot. Credit to him for that.Comment

It's because of his hopes of a potential showdown with another undefeated fighter in Gervonta "Tank" Davis. Tank is the only money man at 140 to fight and not Teo.Comment

Bud would fight Tank Davis before he would a Teofimo Lopez because at least Gervonta Davis is a proven box office draw and success. He is the only reason why Crawford is sticking around welterweight and has yet to move up.

Lol
Soo not true Please send the link with that discussion
FYI
Crawford is more interested in a Canelo Fight or a Money fight in a higher weight classComment
