Fury is Fury. There is no heavyweight like him. Ever. I just cannot count this guy out in virtually any contest. A difficult boxer to try and get your head around. Yet he keeps winning. Keeps getting knocked down. Keeps getting up. Has sublime boxing skills and yet looks ungainly and compared to great Heavyweight champions of the past and simply looks fat. Ernie Terrell was the same height as Tyson and yet only weighed in at 218lbs. Terrell won a nonsense title in the 1960s and badly beaten by Ali but fought virtually all the top contenders and won most in his era. Usyk might possibly be the more skilled boxer but will he know how to counter the unpredictable Fury? Joshua about the same size as Tyson fought Usyk like a wooden cut-out. I see Fury, if he is 'on', being too big and savvy for Usyk and winning by TKO. Joshua did have Usyk in trouble in their 2nd fight but couldnt or wouldnt press forward. Fury will look to bully the much smaller man and be far less respectful.

If Wilder is Fury's best win, that does not say much. I do not think Fury is as good as people think and that he got by Ngannou because Ngannou literally fought his FIRST boxing match ever.
I have Usyk winning this. And I thought it would be close but I have a feeling it will be something like 117-111 or 116-112 UD. Fury is not winning this fight.
Beating the likes of Seferi, Pianeta and Schwartz are literally meaningless results. Nearly losing to Wallin is a bad look. Beating Whyte and Chisora are OK, but not enough to suggest elite.
In other words, the legions of people these last few years claiming Fury is some kind of great has been predicated on his Wilder trilogy...
...And Wilder has just been owned by Joseph Parker, seriously calling into question how good/dangerous Wilder ever really was.
Fury did look good in the first fight against WIlder; very good in the second; but then flawed in the third. Arum asks if Fury got old in the last fight against Ngannou, or if he just didn't train. Those things are not mutually exclusive, of course, and you could say they often go hand in hand. I would also contend that Fury looked like both those things had already got to him in that third fight against Wilder. He looked a bit old, a bit heavy treading, and he didn't look like he had trained himself into his best shape.
I think Usyk trains just as hard as ever and suspect Fury just doesn't care quite enough any more to train 100%. To paraphrase Marvellous Marvin, it's difficult to get up and do roadwork at five in the morning when you're sleeping in silk sheets and you are a massive unit who no longer gives a shlt.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 01-23-2024, 06:24 PM.

I'd still make the case Fury befriended Parker so he'd never have to face him cos he knew Parker wasn't Prime when he lost to Prime AJ, but he is now!
And i really don't get how in any other sport its ****** in the extreme to think a team or player you beat 6 years ago guarantees you'd still beat them now. Yet in boxing it's practically gospel.
Parker would sit AJ on his well toned backside, send Whyte to the dementia ward and scare the bejezus out of Joyce now. He learnt way more about himself and the business by losing to them than he ever could have by winning.
As for Fury v Usyk. I think Fury is scared of losing and what it does to his legacy. Usyk has his legacy secured from amateurs to cruiser to heavies and sees the bigger picture with what's happening in Ukraine.
He's got way more to fight and win for than Tyson's silly fanboy bragging rights.
SLAVA UKRAINI...Usyk FTW !!!

Secondly, Fury knew that Klitschko isn't able to "let his hands go" if he can't establish the jab, so Fury took that away from him and was left with a very easy fight.
Klitschko only had success vs AJ because AJ GASSED. And even then he couldn't finish an AJ in a WORSE state than he was in the Ruiz fight because klitschko is scared of getting hit on the chin.
Klitschko was humiliated by Fury in the press conference, before the fight when fury exposed his attempt at cheating, and then in the ring, and also after it when he had to listen to fury sing.
Fury humiliated klitschko 4x
Why was that? Aww was it cos klitschko was sad? Aww poor baby.
No it's because Fury isn't Alex Leapai, Francisco Pianeta or Eddie Chambers type fighter who make up 95% of klitschkos resume. IE: BUMS
The good fighters on his resume like Povetkin and Haye he clinched so much he should be disqualified.Last edited by Atypicalbrit; 01-23-2024, 07:16 PM.

Say you like Fury without laying it thick , it’s simpler than trying so hard
