I'm telling you he wouldn't lol.
And as for the "hardest recorded punch", Francis has the "record", yeah, but a VERY large percentage of heavyweight fighters have yet to punch that specific machine to measure their power. You know who had the previous "record" on that specific machine? Tyrone Spong lol
Once you start to unravel everything, the "record" becomes more of a marketing ploy. Not saying Francis doesn't hit hard or anything, but we can't pretend like he went up against a Deontay Wilder or any top 5 heavyweight puncher to get the record lol he beat out Tyrone Spong bro, c'monMulaKO likes this.

It matters not a little bit what size the 80's and 70's era of HW were for if UFC was a thing back then, they would have been the same basic size as the same era of boxers. Pick a sport, today's athletes in Football, basketball, hockey, track and field, water polo and freaking bull riding are all bigger than even 20 years ago, much less 30-40 years ago.
As about every other poster has stated, all we know is an out of shape Tyson Fury who only gave a 60% effort did not look great against Ngannou. Period. No other UFC fighter gets to claim anything over any other boxer. As I do not think any boxer can step in the cageand beat any top 10 rated UFC fighter, I hold no UFC fighter walking into the squared circle has a prayer against any the top 10 reeated boxers. It is a silly concept. Different disciplines.landotter likes this.

Seriously though McGregor actually did well + landed a lot of punches on Mayweather but had no power with the big gloves on...
As for Fury - he gets a lot of his advantages usually from being huge guy. Not everyone needs to lean on their opponents to win... Also he has only beaten two top-10 opponents in 8 years. Boxing is a bit of a scam in that way. It's all about marketingMulaKO likes this.

Punches landed in an actual fight will be weaker and probably won't land flush. Power will vary depending on the fighter's combined abilities

MMA fighters couldn't even hang with Youtuber Jake Paul....

Anyone who doesn't pick boxing is a moron.
Even if Ngannou does by some miracle win against AJ that is just one guy. All the others have lost. That one boxer won in MMA too. Was it Ray Mercer? I forget

But yeah, just because one guy did well in one fight doesn't mean all MMA fighters have the skills to hang. Especially UFC guys. There's only a few in the UFC that I think would be able to do ok in a pure striking sport.Roberto Vasquez likes this.
