  • How good was Oleksandr Gvozdyk?

I think Gvozdyk had 2 common opponents with Kovalev and he stopped them both faster than Kovalev, he also put Adonis Stevenson in a coma and stopped Yunieski Gonzalez, his power was def elite. But he only had 20 fights and didn’t beat any other big names.

He was boxing well against Beterbiev until his mind crumbled late from the pressure Beterbiev was putting on him.

How does he compare to Bivol?

Great fighter, just didn’t have the mental strength to deal with Beterbiev.

Very good. If we're comparing him to Bivol I don't believe he's as fluid.

I think he was/is a very offensively skilled but flawed fighter. My impression was he hit fairly hard and could let loose some very fluid combinations. He was a good boxer but wasn't always the most defensively responsible (I think he was dropped and hurt by Tommy Karpency). He could overwhelm good opponents with his offensive arsenal; he stopped Yuniesky in destructive fashion and beat down a normally durable Chilemba.

I was at the Beterbiev/Gvozdyk fight, very close to ringside seats. He was landing some very nice combinations on Artur but the difference in the sound of the punches was very noticeable. It sounded like Artur was hitting The Nail with a baseball bat. I think his body gave out on him as much as his mind. That was a wicked, sustained beating.

                    Just completely untrue.

I hated Adonis Stevenson for years for his ****ing antics, but that mutha****er was legit. His left hand was incredible. And Gvodzdyk almost killed him.
