Major momentum appears to be building for an all-Mexico matchup between Canelo Alvarez and Jaime Munguia. But first, Munguia must beat John Ryder on Jan. 27 in a way that Alvarez couldn't last year so that he can get the attention of the undisputed super middleweight champion.

That would be a disappointment if Benavides is not next. Muguia barely won against Dervey.

Unbelievable! Canelo talking about not wanting to fight countrymen and Munguia is actually from Mexico not the U.S like Benavides. This would be a duck if Munguia who's done far less than Benavides getting a shot. Munguia, Charlo, Do not deserve it, Benavides deserves that shot....

The WBC need to strip Canelo if he doesn't fight Benavidez.

Much better than Canelo vs Jermall Charlo. Far better than Canelo vs Berlanga.

Still doesn't justify bypassing benavidez nor Morrell Jr. It should be a cinch benavidez first.
