Thoughts on usyk sparring a bunch of giant bums?

I don't think his choices of sparring partners are very good, they've just picked a bunch of tall useless lumps with records like 7-4-2 against other bums.

Meanwhile fury is sparring Opetaia, moses Itauma and David Nykia all young, unbeaten, hungry and extremely fast fighters

None of Fury's partners are as skilled as Usyk but if argue that all of them are faster, and two of them definatley hit harder.

Usyk's partners aren't better than fury in any department.

I trust in Usyk's training process more than Fury's. You never know if you're getting the Fury who beat Klitschko and Wilder or the Fury who got dropped by Pajkic and Ngannou. Usyk always looks the same.

I suspect Usyk's training team are better judges of these matters than random people on the internet.

He is fighting a giant, isn`t he.

Should he have sparring with Canelo, or something?

Yeah I see your point why not just go to the big and tall man store and find some random 7 foot disabled dudes, they will be good prep for Fury cos dey both tall

I support that in a big way - every bum who stands above 195 is becoming a heavyweight and we currently have too many of them, which is why some people say the division is weak. It isn't that bad, there are enough top and good fighters, it's just that the bums are too much.

To the topic: it is normal for every fighter to search for a sparring partner that can mimic something in his opponent. In this case, it's the size, but this by itself isn't enough when we talk about Fury. The point is that Usyk doesn't have many options, so there is nothing wrong with what he is doing.

The trick to sparring partners ins't getting the best fighters, it's getting guys who can emulate your opponent the best.

Which makes Nyika an odd choice, since he's not even a southpaw.
