look up the timeline of beterbiev in the olympics, russia team made him go to "heavyweight" which is 200 pound limit and he only lost to usyk there, he would have likely got gold at light heavyweight. they only did that to swap him with the other russian fighter they had going to light heavy who won gold.
but yeah at his age, its high risk, we seen him get hurt before, a larger guy who can hurt him especially if they are mobile, could stop him and then what the loss will have the asterisk that he was 40 anyways

I wonder if Bivol -Beterbiev has a rematch clause that both guys can activate. It would be logical.
I hope not. Both those guys seem like the type to be confident about winning and not feel like they need rematch clause comfort blanket crap. Rematch clauses are usually awful.
