NSB Pick Em 2024 MASTERTHREAD

Can someone from the Boxingscene staff or pickem crew tell me if I'm getting my money or not? If not, I will bow out of the 2nd and 3rd rounds because it's not worth my time or effort. I don't want to sound like some salty ***** but this was a primary concern when the forum changed hands and I started doing okay at this thing again.

Frustrating time for all unfortunately. I have repeatedly reached out by both PM and email to the site just to start some kind of dialogue going but have so far had no response whatsoever.. No yes, no no, just nothing ever since the switch over. Tried again a little over a week ago and will keep trying but obviously not looking promising.

I understand it's frustrating, particularly if you're needing the money but we are looking at other potential solutions that will be both fair to all and sustainable, and unfortunately it's a bit awkward for me to do much until I get home Mon night or Tuesday, but if I can ask for your patience till then I should be able to give you a clearer answer.

Thanks Koba. You guys work really hard to keep this PICKEM game going and I appreciate it. I know the prizes aren't your responsibility either but thanks for commenting regardless. I just didn't know who to ask or where to post, so I pmd the game account and commented in here. I don't think messaging the boxing updates main account would do me any good either. I have a bad feeling the new people aren't interested in honouring the prize money that was established prior to them, but it would have been nice if they could have just come out and said that.

Yes, it's 200, 100 and 50. The three of us are involved, it's unfortunate that the new site management is, quite simply, ignoring the Pick Em League's previous history (and current emails). But, as Koba said, work is being made for a solution, at least in regard to the first round's prizes.

Okay gentlemen, first things first... major announcement.

As a consequence of being unable to get any kind of response from the new site management regarding the status of the NSB PIck Em and whether or not they will be willing to honour the prize commitments offered by the previous management it is with deep regret that we must announce that as of 1st May - ie the beginning of the Second quadrimester of the 2024 Pick Em - prizes will no longer be on offer for the NSB Pick Em until further notice.

In due course (over the next few weeks) we will be consulting with the player base over options for moving forward.. at the very least it is the unanimous intention of the CREW to keep the Pick Em game running for the remainder of the year irrespective of any prizes or rewards... the game started waay back in 2017 just for the challenge, the banter and bragging rights and I think that most of here still continue to play for just those reasons... any cash prizes are more like the icing on the cake.

We may explore other prize possiblities, such as some kind of sweepstakes system or similar although from the very start the aim has been to make the game as inclusive as possible so I think we'd all be very reluctant to move to any kind of pay-to-play system, although some kind of hybrid system may be workable. Anyway, that's a discussion for another day.

With regards to the prizes for Jan 1st - April 30th it is the intention of the CREW to attempt to honour the prize commitments already made - basically between us we're thinking of going out of pocket, since there appears to be no means of eliciting a response from ProBox.

If the two relevent Prize winners... YoungManRumble ($200) and Damn Wicked ($100) would just bear with us a little while longer we'll get your money to you one way or another. I'll PM you both in the next coupla days to get something finalised
