NSB PICK EM 2024: ROUND 1. PICK EM #3 - #5 SATURDAY 20th JANUARY AND TUESDAY 23rd JANUARY

There was too many close rds for me. I had it 6-4 Mayer, but there were close rds earlier that coulda went either way imo. I thought the rds Mayer won without debate she won BIG & I thought she looked like the better fighter by alot in those last 3rds but they were still 10-9 rds despite her domination in 8-10.

Jonas was fighting on he back foot , if not she was running
I just don’t think she did enough output to win many rounds although when landing , she was quite accurate
I had it 6/4 Mayer also but some of those rounds could of easily been scored for Mayer
Mayer just looked much more dominant and pretty strong for someone coming up in weight

Never go against the local Brit fighter.

This has always been my Bible, then Cliff Rold - who's rarely wrong - picked Jonas as well... Yet I STILL picked (and bet on) Mayer (plus Cullen, for good measure), and still don't know why.

Scoring it rbr I just thought it was a close ass fight where 2 swing rds, of prob 3 or 4 iirc, changes it from 6-4 Mayer to 6-4 Jonas. To me thats a fight that can go either way & never a robbery.

It was, without question, 6-4 Mayer. And the last three rounds, Jonas was being beaten to a bloody mess.

Ah well. Hopefully Tuesday's picks will get me back in the mix.
